Title: Aura cameras..
Post by: cobalt on December 30, 2005, 12:24:37
I belive a lot off things, but still tend to be sceptic (or saying carefull i prefer)..
after reading this:
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21419&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=50
i would be happy that anyone describes me basics of aura camera, because as i know now its usually about lying ang just getting random images using "special" design ;)
..kirlian photo could be somewhat more true..

Heres a start if you're interested in kirlian (aura) photography:

http://skepdic.com/kirlian.html

It works by passing a voltage through a person (you usually touch hand plates to make the circuit) and they photo the electrical discharge produced and overlay it on a photo of you. If that current wasnt there, the discharge wouldn't be created, and no aura would be seen. So to all extents and purposes it doesn't show auras at all :).
For example:

Quote
Living things...are moist. When the electricity enters the living object, it produces an area of gas ionization around the photographed object, assuming moisture is present on the object. This moisture is transferred from the subject to the emulsion surface of the photographic film and causes an alternation of the electric charge pattern on the film. If a photograph is taken in a vacuum, where no ionized gas is present, no Kirlian image appears. If the Kirlian image were due to some paranormal fundamental living energy field, it should not disappear in a simple vacuum (Hines 2003).

Edit: People might point to the 'torn leaf' experiments which still show a completed leaf using kirlian photography. This is because the part of the leaf which was torn had contact with the plate, and so leaves a residue which can be ionised. If you cut the leaf before putting it on the plate, then the 'removed' section doesn't show.

MrJingo is correct.
The process is called Galvanic Skin Response.
GSR sensors are not uncommon in the medical industry, as they can be used to give indications of the body's general state of health.

Aura cameras combine GSR sensors with a computer running a program that interprets the sensor's output as a display of "auric" colours, which are then superimposed over the image.

It does give a reasonable representation of the condition of your moods the time, as moods can considerably alter the galvanic response of your skin.

James.

Interesting..ik know ive taken a kirlian of my finger in realtime
(by grounding my self and pushing finger against flouroscent glass disc under wich was an electrode off ~50kv ac(25-200khz), low current)..so i put this corona discharge overy my photo and i get "grayscale" aura photo?

But then i think it could differ from fingers, or each finger/electrode frequency represent different aura "layer"

But as i know kirlians are taken by single, very short high voltage/low current discharge

This means the programm could be made by someone who can see auras, and compared a lot of kirlians and real auras..hmm

Anyway kirlian for me seems too random to represent something..ill just try to set it up again ad check how those kirlians differ from time to time ;)
