It seems to me that the music industry is only targerting the top four or so file sharing programs. They may also only be cracking down on those who download mainstream stuff.

If your downloading obscure artists i wouldnt worry too much.

btw- i thought they only issued fines out for a month or so, I dont think they will keep it up. People will fight it and its just gonna end up costing them even more money in legal fees.

I'm using Kazaa-Lite. It's a better version of Kazaa. It has this feature that automatically detects the IP of RIAA representatives and blocks them from accessing your computer. Good stuff.

I've got a good 2 gigs of music on this computer. Nearly 1000 songs. I haven't been caught. Whoo.

Ok dude...that's just my songs. (It's actually 2.23 gigs total).

I didn't tell you what I got for VIDEOS!!

All 50 episodes of Family Guy
All 26 episodes of Cowboy Bebop
50 - 75 Music Videos
Other...funny videos. Mainly Simpsons, Futurama, The Daily Show, Conan O'Brien, etc...

That takes up another 11 or so gigs. Good stuff.

I don't download too much anymore but I use ftp's and mirc where you can get full albums. I have around 60 gigs of just full albums now which I will never have enough time to listen to.

I wouldn't use mIRC for downloading music. You can get busted more easily that way.

Maybe if your the bot sharing the music. I've only heard of them catching people on kazaa.

Ok...so ....

Add 5 gigs to the total of that Music Videos section. I downloaded 5 gigs in 10 hours at my buddies' house. IP blocker was on the whole time []

I tripled my collection. Easily. Maybe even quadrupled.

I used to use Napster, then WinMX, then some other thingy that didn't work well, Morpheus, then Kazaa, and Kazaa Lite, but my pc couldn't take Kazaa Lite, so then I jumped back to simply Kazaa. Though I deleted Kazaa, it started to bonk up my pc (for example, it disabled the sound, bonked up MSNplus, and more excrement like that). I'm still looking for a nice MP3downloader.

We all know Kazza is a sucide machine now because of the RIAA and your fate is a large fine for using it. I am sure many use it but I do not, I do not want to be caught, simple as that.

So I ask "What do you use"?
