Sleep Paralysis?

Hi there Veccolo !

No, this wasn't sleep paralysis. You felt a strong restraining force within your "dream"....with some effort you were able to battle against this force.

This is a common phenomena and typically occurs when dreams turn scary. For instance I've found it hard to run away, or strike, attackers in my dreams. It feels like my arms and legs are moving in slow motion no matter how hard I fight them !!

Back to sleep paralysis...this is quite easy to identify. Remember how you felt when you woke up this morning ? You probably rolled over, rubbed your eyes, turned off the alarm clock. Now, imagine that you've just woken up in your bed, but you realise you cannot move a single muscle in your body. You cannot even open or blink your eyelids ! Immediately you are filled with fear, but after 2 or 3 minutes you regain the ability to move. This is sleep paralysis !

Can I go back to your post ... you said :

I "awoke" in the night and was pressed into my bed with incredible force. I saw my surroundings, but couldn't see what was pressing me down. I "fought" against it, tried to stand up. A very loud, awed male voice told me not to be scared and something else I don't remember.

Did you sense that this felt different to the sparring dream you had later, or was it the same dream-like quality ?

Well I wasn't really scared, it was just unconfortable. I had the impression I really woke up, and because of the paralyzation (body asleep, mind awake) it faded into two sequenced dreams ("Vegeta position", sparring dream)

That's the way it was, but without the fear. I "awoke" (without the alarm clock, I just woke up) and there was this immense pressure and the voice. I didn't fight it physically of course, I couldn't move because of the pressure, I just "willed" myself against it, until I "won". Then it seemed to fade into a normal dream, where I found myself in this standing position. I can't describe it any better, hope you understand what I mean ...

I couldn't write it so detailed this morning because I was in a hurry this morning.

Oh, I read that the eyes aren't paralyzed while in sleep paralysis.

It was totally different. The sparring dream seemed like a normal dream, not so real like the first thing + it wasn't in my room. The pressure-thing was in my room, I could see my surroundings (well, as much as one can see in an almost dark room). It really seemed as if I woke up. Could be a false awakening, though I never had one which was like this.

I don't know if it was sleep paralysis or something like that. I "awoke" in the night and was pressed into my bed with incredible force. I saw my surroundings, but couldn't see what was pressing me down. I "fought" against it, tried to stand up. A very loud, awed male voice told me not to be scared and something else I don't remember. I wanted to scream for help, but I couldn't speak. The pressure was very intense, but I "fought" on and won against it and stood up. The position I took was the same Vegeta ([;)]) takes when doing his final flash attack. Standing in this cool pose, I left out an intense yell of victory (My parents didn't show up, so I wasn't "awake" I think). The next thing I remember I was in a dream and had a boxing sparring with AA Michael ... o_O

Was that a sleep paralysis? First time I had something like that ... but it was cool!
I don't do much, and I do it well.
