Can visualizing make you smarter?

Hi everyone, I am in College right now and I find it hard to visualize and manipulate mental things. Especially getting the bigger picture of a whole concept. So I was wondering if you think that practice visualization could help one become smarter since they will be able to see what is being learned in their head better. So can one get better at visualizing? I would think so, but could that in turn lead to being smarter? Interesting thought. Thoughts guys and gals? Thanks.

BTW I am doing OK in school, but I demand the best from myself.

If you were a drawer or painter I think you would be more talented if you can visualise.  I do not think being able to visualise will make you any smarter.
