Sorry about that- cruh has the sound found in crush, whereas cra has the sound found in crab.

I prefer #2, though I heard Deepak Chopra pronounce it like #4.  [:P]

The way I've used it is probably closest to 7 or 8. An interesting website may lend a clue:

Okay, maybe this has been done before, but here- it shall be done once more!

Having studied eatern philosophies and concepts for the past five years, I have always wondered how exactly it was pronounced; is there a "right way"? Whether or not this is the case, how do you pronounce the word?

I have always said Shah-cruh...

1. Shah-cruh
2. Shah-cra
3. Shah-craw
4. Chak-cruh
5. Chak-cra
6. Chak-craw
7. Chah-cruh
8. Chah-cra
9. Chah-craw
10.Other- indicate
