People of the United States of America...Obama has won!
Hopefully there is change. This country needs one
Same crap. Different day. Until proven otherwise.
It is gonna take real effort to be worse than the previous one.
I am glad Obama was elected, and I respect McCain for putting up a good fight. He graciously accepted his defeat.
Palin was a bad choice for a running mate. IMO that was his greatest mistake. Don't get me wrong, I voted Obama. I didn't have a huge aversion towards McCain, just Palin. Let's hope she doesn't run for pres in another 4 or 8. She'd be worse than Bush.
Obama will just carry out the agenda of the hidden masters. It will change from bad to worse.
^ Most likely. :-(
Here in Oz, we also had a change of heart type change of governance. After a month in government you could see the signs of stress as the reality of the bigger picture settled into them.
What I saw during the run up to our election was the then government seemed to be fighting for re-election, but not whole-heartedly, as if they intended to lose and let the next guys have the run into the next possible global depression. For which they will always be remembered as making things worse, even though things were already well on their way by that stage.
In your election I saw something similar. The old guard didn't appear to fight tooth and nail for their position as you would expect them to.
It now remains to be seen what happens with both our governments, and how quickly it makes their respective heads go gray. A lot of people think Obama will be assasinated... I don't think it will happen. More likely he will struggle to bring real change when those holding the strings refuse to agree to Real Change, much like what happened here in 1974. When the Liberal controlled Senate refused to pass Bills, stopped the money flow and eventually had the entire legally elected government sacked by the Queen's representative, the then Governer-General Kerr.
Not that the exact same process would happen in the US, but I would expect blocking moves anyway to destabilise things more.
