I'm not sure what it is, I do know what your talking about though, I have the same thing except I usually see green and dark purple swirls.

Hi People,

I also see green and purple light moving when I close my eyes,  Sometimes it is accompanied by other white light strands or images.  A few years ago I was reading one of the books by Carlos Castaneda, in his series about the Yacqui sorcerer Don Juan Matus, and it was mentioned that seeing the green and purple was very auspicious and fortunate.  Unfortunately it did not explain why, so I am still unable to explain it for myself.  As to what the light is, I really don't know, other than it is a natural thing.

Love always.

I've heard it's just something to do with your eyes getting accustomed to the darkness or something.
In any case, the colours are very handy for phasing out of body. I'm sure you could run a search on this board and find out more about that.

Thanks for the replies.

I get the same colors in my eyes also. I never get these strings when I am in a trance, how about you?

i always thought it was perception of something other than the three-d world.  maybe our third eye picking up something.  it would make sense that since our eyes are less useful when it's dark that another sense would try and make up for it.

For roughly 16 or more whole hours of a day your eyes are being bombarded with lights and colours and objects of different shapes and forms, its only natural that as soon as your eyes are closed and its dark that light and colours and multiple forms of objects are going to be imprinted on your Fovea causing you to see all sorts of crazy things such as swirls of colours and even faces - its like accidently looking at the sun or a bright light, when you turn away your eyesight is slightly blurred and if you close your eyes you see large green patches. On a night for example it is similar but not as extreme. Experiments have been done even using the television and home veiwers, by putting an object on the tv screen and having you concentrate on it, they made it suddenly disapear - for several seconds after youd see what would appear to be an imprint left behind, an imprint that is actually in your eye and not on the screen.

Dont forget, simple biology and other sciences can account for a large majority of things, and not everything should be put down to a sixth sense or 'supernatural' abilities. It seems that whenever something is posted on the board that is answerable by common knowledge science, it is often put down to something otherwordly so to speak.

I have found when I get the wavy colors, stings..ect. That is my astral sight coming in.  If you just let it happen and don't question and stay calm.. you just might find that your room will start appearing.
Next thing you know you're looking out of you lids. [:D]

Try pressing down softly on your eyes (when there closed) for a long time. WHen you take them off and look up you get a show...[8D]

I do that shadow.

Hephaestus, very good reply!

Nay, really? I gotta try that again lol. I been seeing these things for ages! So yes I am calm.

EyesOfVengeance

I see cat's eyes when I gently (not all the time only sometimes) glance at the corner of my eye or when I open or close them. Sometimes they are blue, green, and other many colors.

I'm guessing this is an impression of my own eyes?

Yet why does it look like the eyes of a cat?

WalkerInTheWoods

True, Hephaestus, but science does not really know for sure and it is all pretty much a guess. I have heard it is anything from what you meation to light trapped within your eyes to retina damage. Believing everything that scientists tell us is the same as blindly following a religion. Science is always changing as they learn more. After doing a little research I was surprised to find that most things that science will have us believe is absolute fact is only based on guesses and assumptions with little to no actual facts. We think that we know a lot when in reality we know very little.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

I agree some things to do with science are speculation and theories but the mysteries of the Eye were discovered long ago.

When you are in a dark room trying to sleep and your eyes are closed, do you ever see stuff in your eyes? Like light strings moving across your eyes? I know some of you know what I am talking about, what exactly is this?
