That chat room is an IRC channel. It is not just something associated with us on this web site. It is a part of the entire internet relay chat system. I have had nothing but bad luck looking for advice there. The link is probably just provided for people who want to try to chat anyway without some sort of IRC program like mIRC.

Chat rooms are generally a low form of communication. Email and forums are much higher in their way because they allow both to think carefully about what they are going to say. You know when you were a kid and your teacher in school said to you "When you want to say something, make sure it passes through your brain and not just straight out of your mouth," or something to that extent. Well, it's true when you think about it. The problem with today's world is that it is so rushed. That's why I take my weekends off from doing anything. I deliberately don't do anything in order to reinforce the idea that quality is more important than quantity or efficiency. Who among us does not feel rushed at their job or in school?

Anyway, getting back to my point, chat rooms are like that because people are impatient and just blurt things out(well, they type without thinking and don't even give what they typed a second look). I have to say though, that as far as astral chat goes, it's better than most chat rooms I've been in. Usually someone comes into a regular chat room and starts insulting people for no reason, usually because most chat rooms are full of teens and kids, which is really ironic considering most porn ads are found in chat rooms. I tried writing an email to AOL about this but I couldn't find a way to get in touch with these people. They probably know what goes on, yet they do nothing to stop it. Why hasn't the government cracked down on this issue?

On a tangent, I thought about joining an organization to stop the sexual exploitation of women, but I couldn't find any. I've read articles about how immigrants from other countries are kidnapped and forced into prostitution and how they are treated. I was horrified that a whole group of people could do this. So I decided the best course of action would be to first stop internet porn advertising in chat rooms, especially where children usually go to meet others their age. I thought about sending a virus to the porn servers or whatever you call them but first of all I dont know how to make viruses and I don't know anyone who does. Plus it's illegal anyway. But man what I wouldn't give to hack into their systems and scare the crap out of them.

If I were you guys I would stick to the forums. Part of going into a chat room is that you have to go in with a certain state of mind. Trying to encourage intelligent conversation is a good idea. Ask a "test" question and see what kind of response you get in order to get a feel for the people in the room. Then you can decide where to go from there.

Maybe there was some problem but has anyone ever been on the chat site on astral pulse?

Either there was a problem or i was treated very rudely by some members. I went onto the chat room and said hello, then systematically everyone left the room, Specific names were akashikrecords, prana, and zeph. or something close to that.

anyone got any thoughts on this?
