I Need Advice

  I go to a Baptist Youth Group, ok? So you're supposed to bring as mnay of your friends as you can. I did so and it was alwasy a good thing 'til I brought one friend, he'll be known as Joe. To put it simply, I had no idea Joe would act the way he does. He's more disrespectful than me. Which is hard, but the worst of it is (Pardon my French here kids) he talks excrement. CONSTANT excrement. Behind my back, infront of people, anywhere he can. Especially to girls. I'll be talking to a few girls, just casualy. And he'll come up out of no where and say something realllllly inappropriate, usually sexuly about me, or just say something to try and imbarass me. On Sunday school he waers Gothic Style Clothing to SUNDAY SCHOOL. It's just about the worst mistake I have ever made bringing him there. What can I do to fix this?

You sound young anyway Baptist youth group lol that is excrement, Religion is a POS Anyways there are more important things get over your self and kik his butt

Ya, I'm young 14. I know Religion is POS, lol, especially Baptism. And I'm probably gunna kick the excrement out of him. He's like 5'1" dude, lol. I didn't become very good in martial arts for nothing anyway.

Hi Kitsune,

Best advice I can offer here is don't try and fix anything. The problems here seem to belong to Joe, not you.

One of the most important lessons we can learn in life is - you can't change people, you can't fix people.
You can't control them, you can't make them be something they're not and you can't make them learn something they're not willing to learn.

Too many people become twisted, neurotic wrecks because they're control freaks. They can't let go of things, and are always trying to fix everyone elses problems.

Best thing you can do is "let go and let God". Don't set expectations and don't try to control things, people and situations all the time, but rather just be in the moment and allow the universe - "God" to take control, and relax. The universe knows what it's doing. We just tend to get in the way more than we help matters.

This guy Joe sounds like hes got some real problems and insecurities. All you can really do to help here is try and point out to him what a complete jerk he's being, in a friendly, diplomatic way so he doesn't get all defensive. If he doesn't want to listen to what anyone has to say to him, let go of it. Bottom line, he's got to learn to accept his own stuff or he'll never change, and no-one else can do that for him.
