Tiny posted a simple java app that allows you access to the server and channel:

I've found that one doesn't even need an IRC client installed.

You can simply go here http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=##astralpulse and type in your nick and channels: astralpulse

Or you can use any IRC program to connect using the following information (I use mIRC):
Server: irc.freenode.net
Channel: ##astralpulse

I'm gonna try to be in there as much as I can... mostly I'll be around 9am - 5pm while I'm at work during the week.
It's a nice way to pass the time during some downtime during the day.

There aren't too many people on at any one time lately... but I'm hoping to change that.

It would be interesting to set a meeting in advance, at a certain day/time, so we would be sure to have many members here then.

A subject for the chat could also be decided prior the session.

I think it would be better if the site had its own chat forum but I can't remember why they don't. It would be more easily accessible. Some people may not be interested in IRC nor may not know how to operate it.

I guess agreeing a time could work, but we would have to decide which time zone to use. I live in the UK.

You don't really have to know anything.

Just click on the link above, type in your name and the channel name and you're off to the races.

Yes it does get a bit saucy in there. But I can assure you that whenever I'm around, I am always the one to stimulate intellectual debate.
