Could there be a way for someone to release their endorphins at will?

Don't know exactly how you know when your endorphins are released, but I can tell you that keeping an optimistic and positive view on the things around you, can and does make you (in overall) more happy.

I noticed in a certain deep state I can directly stimulate parts of my brain...    not very fun if you don't know what parts of your brain are where >.<.
I was in sleep paralyze during mediation and noticed I felt a little chunk in a part of my head. I mentally poked it and immediately felt as much fear as I assume is humanly possible, a very primal thoughtless terror. Later I checked a diagram of the brain in a neurology book I had and the part of the brain attributing to fear was right there. I haven't done it since ,but I haven't really tried. So I guess it is possible..probably.
^ I probably would have thought that's insane a year ago.

Modern medicine for the most part considers all emotions to be entirely chemically based. I do not agree, but hey, fact is they are all controlleable by consciousness. A lot of people use positive memories, or something to feel good about, to control emotions. You can also simply switch them on and off if you try. This, to medicine, would therefore constitute a release of chemicals.

Emotions can also take a lead from you body language and facial expression ..

You are the Alpha and the Omega. You are vaster than the universe and more powerful than a flaring supernova. You are truly incredible!!

The thing is do the emotions trigger the release of chemicals or do the chemicals trigger the emotion?

If you know the answer, then how in the world do they measure it?

What an incredible question. If I could release my endorphins at will I would not be on suboxone.
Heheee! I wish, and if you ever find a way, please let me know!!!!!
Reality is defined as one's own perception of life.

Yes I am with kodemaster. But if you really want a kick try running until you are at the verge of throwing up due to exhaustion, that should release quite a massive dosis of painkillers in the brain :) (joke)

Endorphines are your body's way of commending you when you have done something hard.

Some runners are almost addicted to the rush of endorphines. The term "running high" is what happens when you run and you brain release endorphins at the same time. Then it feels like you are flying :)

i exercise strenuously at night sometimes just to get 'high'.

every time i dream, i wake up with this intense feeling of euphoria. most of my dreams make no sense at all so i don't know why this occurs.
