Contemplating Suicide

Permanently Grounded

I find myself giving suicide a lot of thought lately. Basically my situation is that I'm in my mid 50's, unemployable and in a loveless relationship. I also feel like my country (the USA) has completely lost its moral compass and that everyone around me is basically morally bonkers. I mean, legalized torture, really? Drone bombing kids as they play soccer on a beach somewhere 7422 miles away from here for no good reason? Bailing out criminally corrupt corporations at public expense? Legalized financial fraud, legalized secret courts?  ..yet no one says anything. No one does nothing. I really don't like this new so-called 'reality' anymore. I haven't liked it for quite awhile already. This earthly experience is over-hyped in my opinion. Good doesn't necessarily triumph over evil ..if ever! Plus I really feel like I've outlived my usefulness and potential. The only thing holding me back from actually acting on my thoughts are some comments made by much-respected thinkers like Tom Campbell who suggest that ultimately suicide is just a temporary escape and that ultimately in the next life we'll be forced to pick-up where we quit, so to speak.

You should not let yourself be affected emotionally by your government, you can be frustrated that they have no idea what they're doing but don't let them affect you other than that.
We all know what the states are doing right now, but believe me, karma is gonna hit hard on their government. They are part of the U.N. and so is almost every countries on this earth.
The laws that they are breaking are all gonna fall back on their head. Lots of people from the government will be jailed or worse.
U.N. is not governed by the states. It's governed by all the countries. Theses attacks that they do are immoral and it's injustice.
The U.S. is yelling freedom everywhere while killing people. But they are gonna crawl back in their corner when they realize that nobody's on their side anymore. All we hear about is states here states there. War here and invasion there.
Even tho they show pictures of their army and their defences, nobody wants to fight for them anymore. What good is 500+ jets when no one wants to fly one?
What good is an army when eventually all countries will declare war on them?
We are all aware of the situation, every countries has news channel, everyone has access to the web, everyone knows what's going on.
If I were you, I'd sell my house, divorce my wife, change country and pack my bags, it's not gonna be beautiful.
This country is based on lies, secrecy and arrogance. NOTHING good will ever come out of it except it's civilization immigrating somewhere else.

You should do the same.
Don't let a country lead you to suicide because of it's mistakes.

Listen. When this is all over, U.S. will stop being a jerk to everybody.
If a country declares war on U.S. believe me it's gonna trigger a chain reaction against U.S. they will all stop their non-sense.
You just have to let time pass, if you can't change country, go somewhere where there's less action and where you feel safe.
You are a civilian, you are not your government. You have all the rights to not take part in any of this.
It's not your fault!
The partial becomes complete; the crooked, straight; the empty,
full; the worn out, new. He whose (desires) are few gets them; he
whose (desires) are many goes astray.

This is something that requires professional help. This isn't the answer or the place to find that help. Please find someone who is there with you and work this out.

I understand... from the bottom of my heart, I deeply understand what you're saying... I feel much the same about the current state of our society.
However, and as you've pointed out, suicide isn't the answer... it never is.  You've made it clear you WANT to see change... THAT is the first and absolute best step anyone can take.
The next step now is realizing that that change doesn't come from anything external to you.  You don't change the world, you CAN'T change the world, you don't have that power... you only have the power to change one thing in this world: Yourself.

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world" ~Ghandi

Each person needs to change themselves from the inside out if we're to change anything in our society.  This is how we purify not only our OWN Intent (the action behind WHY we make the choices we do), but it's also how we purify our SOCIETAL Intent (the action behind WHY our society does the things they do).

I wrote an article about this very thing for my website... it's in regards to "Intent" and "Societal Intent".

The more you do this... the more you'll change your perspective on the world, and the less negative you'll "see" (obviously it'll still be there, but you won't FOCUS on it) and the more positive you'll "see".  This has huge implications upon how YOU live your life.

This thread will stay locked... because of legal reasons, but I hope that you'll take heed of what I say and seek out the help you need if/when that time comes.   :)
