Cosmic Consciousness

I recently started reading a book on this subject by Maurice Bucke. I've heard the term before in my Rosicrucian studies. Apparently it's some strange form of consciousness that certain spiritual adepts have achieved in the past. It's unclear to me how it works, but has lately been my greatest fascination. I'm wondering if anyone else knows more on the subject?

Also how does this tie into Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel?

I doubt anyone has the answers cause I'm pretty far into the forest... but just in case I'm asking.

On cosmic consciousness , there is something called the collective conscious or unconscious . Its like all of our minds are part of one mind .  There all connected on a higher level .  To my knowledge no one has prov-en this , but it does provide some answers .   desert rat

It's simply oneness... everything is experienced as a single consciousness. It can't really be explained, only experienced. I would say if you want to get symbolic about it, it's a union with God.

I'm not sure about the conversation of the holy gaurdian angel... I'm only vaguely familiar with Rosicrucianism. Maybe it's similar to the "Guardian of the Threshold"?

Well I'm trying to figure out how to obtain Cosmic Consciousness.

My understanding of it is like this... when you're born you have no self awareness, then your reality changes and you become self aware. A lot of scientists do the mirror test with an animal or human baby to determine if it is self-aware.

So this is where most of us are. Now, apparently there is yet another stage of Consciousness where one is one with God and every sense (hearing, seeing, etc) is all one sense. I'm expecting something like the first time I smoked herb -- suddenly everything was different. But only in a non drugged state of awareness.

How does one obtain this state?

I know this is real as much as I felt that OBEs were real before it happened to me. I really feel like this is the single most important thing I can do in this life...

To do it in a direct way, I would guess there are a number of paths of initiation that take you through the steps in a somewhat practical way. A less direct approach: live virtuously. Push past your ego.

I once had a very "mystical" experience that I simply asked for (honestly, I don't know how or why it worked). And I got more than I bargained for. Perception forever changed.
