Throughout my childhood I made up tons of theories just to scare myself. I don't know why I did, but I'm still scared of some of them.
For instance:
I have a theory that gnomes live under all beds just waiting for the chance of the sleeper to have a limb leave the comforts of the bed, as if an arm hang from the bed. The gnomes would leave their home just to come out and take the arm. I still never sleep with any parts of my body vulnerable.
I have a theory as well. There are very large and ugly people on the surface, and they like to sleep on top of our air vents. If you get close to them then they'll snatch you right up and eat you. I still never go near with any parts of my body vulnerable.
If a silly fear like that is all that keeps you from being perfect, hold onto it dearly, for perfection is most likely very boring. If you don't believe similarly, maybe you should try googling for something called emoclear. That may just help you get rid of your childhood demon.
I rather like to keep in around it gives me a sense of security, or a bridge to my early childhood.
