Welcome to the forums LivingDeadGirl!

I moved your topic from the PSD forum to our Astral Chat, if you disagree please PM me. [^]

I think it would be awesome to find some solid evidence of Bigfoot or Nessy!  Can you really get a degree in Cryptozoology?  I have to say that would be a fun job. [:D]

Not sure why you are afraid of a mirror in a dark room, can you give a bit more detail on what exactly your fears are about it?  Do you think something is going to come out of it?

The myth of Bloody Mary. If you are in a pitch black small room, such as a bathroom, that has a large enough mirror in it, and call out Bloody Mary's name 13 times, she will crawl out of it and kill whoever is in the room. I used to play this "game" as a kid. Great confidence booster it is! Weee...

Anyways, to get over this fear easily, get a dimmer light (one that you can adjust how bright it is with a rotator knob) and a small hand mirror that you can prop up and turn around easily if you need to have it "go away". Every night, adjust the light to a comfortable dim setting, and every night after that try to dim it more and more. If you are having trouble with either the mirror or the darkness, it's easy to fix this way. This should sort of slowly work it out of your system, in a way similar that a lot of animals are tamed. Just think that your fear is a confuddled kitten that needs to be guided, and by doing this, you'll tame it.

;)
I come prepared...with COOKIES! No, you can't have one!

oh, i used to be scared of the same thing...being alone with that huge mirror in my room was freaky! but iv seen 'stuff' that was more freaky then that for a while...after seeing something that could be worse, a mirror was just a little nothing.

FIND SUMTHIN SCARIER then a mirror will be like, SO WHAT!

Sometimes i can get a little scared if i am alone in almost-dark room, with a mirror in front of me! It is like if i could see, at any moment, some ghost or dark figure over my shoulder! It is ridiculous because i am 24 years old!

I love you!

I've always felt Ill at ease near mirrors

cryptozoology is the hunt for leprechauns. and chupacabras

think about the matrix reloaded "leftover" idea

what if there where leftovers on earth from a previous earth?

opinions are like kittens, just give 'em away

Hey, LivingDeadGirl and others[:)]
In general it isn't good to have a mirror in the room where you sleep - it could somehow "sucks" your energy out. I feel strange infront of mirrors also...and attracted by them in the same time[:)] It's one paralel world ancient people had thought to be the world of dead people. There are a lot of examples in myths and religions. If you heard about Dionis (ancient greec god of wine) - when he was a child Titans wanted to kill him but they couldn't do that when he's in our world so they gave him a mirror to play with and when he was in that "borderline" state between 2 worlds they torn him into pieces....heh I think the story becames more severe and bloody then, but still I told you bout the mirror[:D]
So, if you have one in your bedroom you could cover it with some cloth in night...
I've had some experiences with mirrors and they're a bit scary...you should just remember who you are when travelling in other worlds...hmm I still can't decide if mirror one is good to visit often, but if it's like Alisa's adventures I agree to spent more time there[;)][:D]
Be safe[:)]

When I was little I was afraid of mirrors. Now day's I find myself starring into them trying to figure our who I am.

Mirrors are almost magically devices if you think about it. They also have alot of occult history. Some people use them for scaring and some for seeing spirits and other supernatural stuff.

I read about a guy who built a room where he would sit in front of a mirror at about a 45-degree angle in front and above him. The room would be mostly dark except for a light coming from behind. He would stare at the mirror until visions of the future would appear.

I think the ancient Greeks also used mirrors in foretelling the future as well.

Mirror's evoke ancient and hidden things inside people or at least they do in me..

Fear isn't really a bad thing as long as it is kept in it's place.

Try spending some time with a mirror in a dark room. Sooner or later you will loose your fears. Ask some questions of it.. Who knows right?

If you find it hard then get a friend who you trust to come with. Or maybe a boy... wink

i love cryptozoology!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i read so much about it and wanted to major in it and ufology.but the greatest part is that nobody knows what it is so if you talk about it to someone noone knows what it is, and you can laugh at people who dont know what it is, until they find out what it is

being in a room with a mirror in it when the room is dark or light at night always makes me nervous, its really weird.but i dont ever want to overcome my fears because thats what makes us human, but it would be nice to not run around screaming like a little girl all the time[:P][:P][:P]

Perhaps you are seeing your "shadow" or "dark" self when you view the mirror in the dark. Maybe that's why you get scared. Most people who do not have second sight would still be able to pick up on the vibes. Mirrors are freaky things.

I want to be a cryptozoologist. Has anyone heard of it? Well, if not, look it up, it's rather interesting. Anyways, does anyone know what school would be best to attend to help me? Oh, & on a completely unrelated subject, does anyone know how i can overcome my fear of being in a dark room with a mirror? It's a stupid & embarrasing fear that I think I'd be better off without.
