Has anyone ever had an experience where nightmarish and horrifically disturbing images seem to flood into your mind for no reason? I have had this happen to me many times since I was in middle school (I'm 19 now) but it no longer bothers me, although the first time it happened I was terrified and didn't get any sleep that night. If anyone has any ideas where the images might come from or how to insulate myself from them, it'd be much appreciated - I fear these images might be able to attract similar negative beings in the astral if they are in my mind at the time of a projection.
THE ANSWER PARADOX
The answer to all paradoxes shows this: "Reality contains logic therefore logic cannot contain reality."
The paradox here is "how can one know this is true?".

If the answer to one paradox is another then the question is the answer.

yes, i've had these negative nightmarish experiences, although there are ways of dealing with them.

what is essentially occuring is a 'psychic rift' within the subconscious psyche, wherein the subconscious psyche experiences an awakening which is either premature or too accelerated.  a 'psychic rift', as i call it, occurs when the physical brain is exposed to excessive sleep deprivation, which therefore triggers brain over-activity.  'brain adrenaline' circulates at a rate which is too accelerated, causing the brain to become too conscious too quickly in the absence of adequate psychical moral cleansing.  the brain then begins to physically deterioriate with the release of brain toxins which damage it's structural integrity.

the best way to quiet down the brain, if negative dream imageries occur, is to get a surplus of sleep and healthy food into the system over a period of usually three to four days on average, although this will vary from person to person.  the food will enhance the brain's structural integrity, and the sleep will enhance the brain's healing rate.  thereafter, a person must ideally exercise psychical cleansing, which ought consist of purging throughts from error and purging emotions from pain, which otherwise circulate psychical poisons that disturb the physical integrity of the brain.

QuoteI fear these images might be able to attract similar negative beings in the astral if they are in my mind at the time of a projection.
this is absolutely correct.  it is imperative for one to practice psychical cleansing methods if one is becoming astrally awakened, so that one may operate along higher frequency vibrations, as opposed to drifting downwards along lower frequency vibrations.  those who become astrally aware along higher frequency vibrations will eventually experience enhanced spiritual enlightenment, whereas those who become astrally aware along lower frequency vibrations will begin to suffer from psychological insanity.

various methods of psychical cleansing include reading heavenly-frequency literature for thought purification (insofar as psychological error is purged by the light of truth), and associating with loving people who are generally free from violent behaviors (insofar as healthy relational environments will work towards purging the emotions from pain through the light of love).  meditation and exercise will also enhance brain health if performed properly.

I haven't had a truly deep night's sleep in many months actually, I always seem to be sleeping on the borderline of consciousness. I'll take your advice, thanks.

Just to get clear though, these images aren't coming from an outside source?

yes, it's quite probable that they're coming from an outside source.  you may be tapping into a dreamscape of dreams which are generated by astral entities.

Ah, I see. It's just visceral and intrusive thoughts though, they've never actually translated into a full scale dreamscape (at least from my perspective).  :-P
