Howdy folks has any one ever seen the movie what dreams may come with Robbin williams? Is this a
good description of what the astral planes are like? Do you know of any other movies involving the astral
worlds? What are your favorite movies, books music etc?

Steel Hawk

Wow. One of my favorite movies, the ideas fit very well into my own views.

There are infinite astral worlds. The ones I've been too have been very similar to earth but infinitely more beautiful. Here's an excerpt of one of my experiences:

QuoteParts of it were so beautiful, beauty I can't describe. Blue purple twilight, trees that are majestic and have personality... crisp air like after it rains... It was a lot like Earth, only amazing, very important to me and I couldn't get over it for sometime.

One Japanese Anime deals with astral projection called "Bleach" but it's a little out there. You should read some of Robert Monroe's books, some of them read like fiction. Also Dion Fortune is a good story teller. Lorenna Mckennit's music reminds me of the astral...

The Mephisto Waltz is an old movie about an occultist who switches bodies with people... It was interesting to me. What dreams may come is a special movie though.

Great movie. And a great illustration of how we can experience self-created and concensus realities based on our beliefs about ourselves and reality, after the body dies.

And become trapped that way... hell is always very personal.

I enjoyed that movie very much.

Yeah, a classic. Hope to see more like that.

Think I can relate to the heaven world garden landscapes , but thankfully I don't see the hell parts.

In the movie I noticed in general that the personal spaces were beautiful botanical environments, and where there was a gathering of population, the more emphasis on open architecture building, until the underworld scenes showed a complete encapsulation below subterranean canals.

The beautiful botanical areas are standard, and any nightmare stuff is probably up to the imagination, but personally I can't relate to any of the dramatic River Styx like scenes.

I actually watched the movie on Youtube the day I initially read this post.
I had read a review on it once before and now that I think about it, I've seen a bit of it on tv before.
Really nice movie... some very sad parts.

It's kinda how I pictured everything.  Not 100%, but very close.  :)

I enjoyed that movie also. The bleach toon is pretty cool and out there. Constantine is a great movie also. You'll love it or hate it. But, I feel it is one of the closest repensations of hell I've seen in sometime.

Dear friends,

try "What Dreams May Come"...

"Doctor Chris Nielson meets his true soul mate Annie, marries her and has two children. The children die in a car accident, and Chris dies four years after that. Ending up in heaven, he is guided by friendly guardian angel Albert through the afterlife, and he is reunited with his dog and children. But when he finds out his wife had committed suicide, he desperately searches for her spirit, journeying through Heaven and Hell along the way.  Written by L. Lim {penny1@es.co.nz} "

My memory is that this movie was amaaaaazing! The man goes searching for his wife after finding out (there was a library(!) -> akashic records??) that she has died but is stuck somewhere in hell (the lower astral planes in this case), so he has to go all the way down and through to find her.

There are several more hints about the reality of the astral in this movie. For example: after his death he has not yet realized that he is able to fly so he stumbles, falls etc. until he learns that he can fly...
That movie will probably thrill your sense of freedom.

I'm about to DL it so I can watch it again.  :-)
