cant remember  what its name...
but its the fastest  car inte the world...
it beats ferrari and porche and so one...
some friends  talked about it but i never listened... just heard few things... but if  i guess right then the time on 402 m was under 7 seconds but i wont  give my head.

Im guessing he is talking about the mclaren f-1 supposivly the worlds fastest street legal car.

well i would have to go with the crystler ME412 which has 800 horses, really incredible.

Ohh...that is a "little" fast!!

What about formula one (or any other formula) cars?! DO they reach that speed too?! I thought that they were not so fast...(200-220 mph).

You're right Kazbadan, F1 cars only get up to around 200mph, but they get there very quick! Nascar and the aussie V8 supercars are similar. They won't go much faster because the aerodynamics of the car pushes them down onto the ground too much. The downthrust the bodywork of a V8 supercar produces is enough to have the cars buckle the track when they go around a banked curve.

Back in the late 80's a couple of ex Mcdonald Douglass aeronautics engineers started a company called Vector Reaserch.

They applied their knowledge of building fighter planes to building sports cars with some really radical design features for the time such as a carbon fibre monocoque chassis with kevlar body panels, air dams and spoilers that automatically adjusted with speed (something that porsche took on about 15 years later) a fueltank that used an internal honeycomb so that it would not explode if it caught on fire.

The engine was a all alloy rework of a 457 chev big block with some serious redesign of the head to allow a couple of very big turbos to feed it, and a 4 speed drag auto to get the power to the wheels. The power to weight ratio of this car was increadible.

Their "non-production" version of the Vector Tandem which could pump out 1200bhp was put to the test in front of a camera crew from an Australian show at the time called Towards 2000.

Unfortunately as it was not exactly their retail production model, they couldn't get it into the record books, but they clocked it out on the salt lakes at 425km/h, and it was still accelerating, but the driver (or should I say pilot?) got a little too nervous and backed off.

Their production model put out 800bhp and they ended up going out of business a few models later as the cars, capable of 0 to 100km/h in just under 3 seconds, were for the time just a little too extreme.

I know that it seems a childish question, but i am really interested in this question: wich is the fastest car in the world?

I know that there is a very fast car, porshe dauer, that it is incredibly fast, but i dont know if it is the fastest one. It can reach 402 km/hour (402 : 1,6 = speed in miles/hour).

Of coarse that i am not taking into account he car that used a rocket motor, reaching 800 km/hour with it! No, i am speaking in cars that you can buy (jus for pure curiosity, because i will never have money to buy such car and i am not even interested!)
