I really love 99% of Rise Against's lyrics.
They're about wars, politics, dreams, relationships, poverty, and anything else that is worth singing about. So basically, no songs about shoes, cars, girls and their booties, etc.

Their newest video, 'Ready To Fall' was banned from the air because it showed how animals and our earth are mistreated. I guess it was too.. graphic? It showed not even half of what is really going on in the world, people need to know this stuff. Meanwhile, there are rap videos featuring girls wearing nothing, or them shooting eachother. I like political (or anti-political) music too. Rage Against the Machine, The Coup, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, and a multitude of punk rock like The Dead Kennedys - Jello Biafra has some great things to say. His spoken word CD's are full of political insight.
I don't always agree with everything they say, but am glad they have the ability to speak their mind.
I hate rap music, but I've listened to Immortal Technique too. I don't know if it's just a rumour, but I heard he used to work for the government or something, and he quit and started telling secrets, so now they're "after him". But if the United States Government is after someone, they're dead. Unless they're worried that if they kill him, people will think everything he's said is true.

I like political (or anti-political) music too. Rage Against the Machine, The Coup, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, and a multitude of punk rock like The Dead Kennedys - Jello Biafra has some great things to say. His spoken word CD's are full of political insight.
I don't always agree with everything they say, but am glad they have the ability to speak their mind.
I like this little quote from an incredible Good Riddance song, spoken by a happy woman at the end:

I have this awfully annoying tendancy to feel sorry for myself at the slightest thing, it even bugs me let alone the poor souls who endure my presence, but I do have one temporary remedy for such down moods. The lyrics pasted below help me realise all I have and all who I know who I should appreciate more often. Kind of a pick me up song to me.
