By the way, why would anyone go to such lenght to create a fake website about a cave? It seems real enough.

Thanks for the link, looks like a place I would like to visit someday. Ireland or Massachusetts...

I think the story about the cave is fake based on the tone of the final entry and the narrative fluidity the journal takes on(he explains this but it seems to perfect). Besides, i've been thinking about creating a similar type of story to put on the internet once I get my digital camera.

Im not saying it's fake, just that it's not cohesive enough for my eye.

On a side note, have any more crazy place links? [;)]

Its a great story, but the person who wrote it is definitely a writer.  Its not something someone would casually put in a journal.

Plus it reminds me a lot of "Freakylinks" and The blair witch project.  Freakylinks was this long running journal of this guy who supposedly would go around checking weird phenomenon.  Most people reading it thought it was real.. then after it was on for about a year suddenly the guy disappeared and guess what?  The makers of the blair witch did a tv show on it.

The website was a fake it was a blair witch type of scam.  They pretended the blair witch was a real phenomenon too.  It bothered me the makers of that movie and the TV show always present their stuff as real just to make movies etc.

Anyway just saying "why would someone do that" isn't really a good gauge of whats real or whats not.  People do things for many reason.. some think a good horror story is better if they pretend it really happened.  The more you read about scams the more you'll realize trying to be logical and saying "no one would make a website if it wasn't true" is kinda naive.

It was a great story though and I liked reading it.

True or not that was a great story.

Thanks for the link.

Took me awhile to read it because I'm at work currently and had to keep minimizing it every time my boss came into the room.  [:P]

Sounds almost too perfect to be real in my opinion, but then who knows.  [:)]
