Death by OBE

Hi I was wondering if this was true or not. If your physical body gets touched during astral projection  you will die.

I got this information from Franz Bardon's Initiation into Hermetics.

If I could get a few verifications weather this is true or not that would be helpful thanks.

Every indication I can think of would say that one cannot be killed as a direct result of projection.

Many people ask this exact question routinely (seriously, like at least twice a month), and they get the same answer; I can think of no instance where someone gave an example of OBE-related physical injury. I suppose, since awareness remains tied to the body, it is vaguely possible that if you had some sort of heart condition, and you were suddenly frightened, you might have some sort of heart-attack or some such, but then, you would probably be even more vulnerable by going to the movies. I suppose it is also possible that legions of people have died, and no one ever heard of them again (we lose lots of regulars here, lol ), but my money is still on a resounding "No".

I wouldn't worry yourself too much over the idea- I wish you goodluck

Thanks for the info, hope nothing happens. This is actually what it said in the book. This is from the ebook though not the actual book I think it states it alittle bit better in the actual book.

When emitting the astral body, certain precautions have to be
taken, since in this case both links between the mental and astral body and the physical body,
the so-called mental and astral matrix, are loosened from the body. The mental and astral
bodies are connected to the physical body only by a very subtle elastic ribbing that shines like
silver. If during the period in which the mental and astral bodies are loosened from the
physical matrix, the latter were touched by another person, no matter whether skilled or
unskilled in magic practice, the said ribbon, being extremely subtle, would break in two at
once. The connection between the physical body being thus interrupted, physical death would
be the consequence. Therefore utmost care has to be taken right from the beginning of these
exercises that nobody should be able to touch the body of the magician when he puts himself
in the described state. The thin ribbon would be torn to pieces, the electromagnetic fluid in
man being much stronger. Even the tender life-ribbon of an advanced magician would not be
able to resist that fluid. A medical expert examining the body of a person killed in su ch a
manner would come to the conclusion that death was caused by heart failure or embolism.

Honesty, its kind of hard to actually say you will really die from the silver chord being cut.  Its pretty rare if at all people see each other on the astral plane, and to say... have a battle trying to cut the chord its really difficult to discern if the other will actually die.  Basically you will have to will yourself to die, but that would have to effect you on your physical body.  Mysterious deaths dont happen that often and to try and figure out if it was caused by such a thing probably will never be found. Being long winded for nothing I suppose, but I'm trying to say nothing to worry about it.

its bull..... it has happened to me numerous times, not dead yet. I sleep beside my wife, on a very small bed, she moves around a lot and we touch all the time. I have projected for years.

Did it all my life, but spent the last 20 years making it stop or go away. Now I am at ease and do it when I need some special information or guidance. Have taken to WILDing instead, more fun and very formative. Got quite bored with it all, I know it sounds silly but......been there did that, got a suitcase of t shirts 

The real exiting stuff is LIFE. If APing can help you enjoy life and become a better happier and more emphatic person, great. Unfortunately it often has the opposite effect and causes the ego to swell to megalomaniac proportions, on occasion. In such a case it is counterproductive. I live by these rules. I try and often fail but I TRY.

Eh.... You did show it was a quote, by putting it in blue Italics, so I would not say you tried to take credit. I am just pedantic about stuff like this, that's all

I actually studied a little of Franz back 20yrs ago, a lot of the materia was interesting, too esoteric and very complex. Had real fun dunking my head in water for "clear seeing"...

To answer your question, no you will not die if your out-of-body and the physical body is touched. I have had my wife hold me while OBE during the night, no problems. I even had my scottish terrier dog "Leroy Brown" for experimentation on the bed while video recording myself during the OBE - no problems there.

I have heard of this, before

When I was 19 years old and courting a young lady on the other side of the town I lived in. Near asleep I felt fingers impressed into my back and her voice in my ear.

I firmly believe this was her Astral Visitation. I do not believe that any interaction between the phsyical and astral-spiritual will make any difference whatsoever. In fact I think mostly one out of body will go unnoticed to others, no matter what. Their bodies are just like sleeping. Now I do have strange scars on my back

in my Lucid dreaming I recall exiting the body through my back, numerous times. I lived an Agoraphobic lifestyle, thus OOBE'd through lucid dreaming many many times. When my Mother came from Europe to visit me she believed I had be tortured, the wounds on my back appeared to be deep purple, very defined...long, and thick... Dozens of such things

So can OOBE damage the body, not sure, that could've been just growing Stretch Marks... As I have signs of other such things.. but those looked quite strange!
