Title: General Question Regarding Visuals
Post by: Bordmb on June 25, 2012, 22:39:42
I've created a place in my mind, henceforth called my forest, I use for run downs and a portion of it I've set aside for general meditation. Now, during my meditation earlier, I achieved F10 and at the time my forest seemed like a very vivid thought that when I tried to engage all of my senses at once would take on very vivid qualities but they still just stayed more like an extremely vivid thought; however, now that I am thinking back on it, it seems even more clear and almost like I actually experienced it.

I'm wondering if this is how it usually is. I will admit that I was trying to get a true visual, but I maintained the blackness throughout the experience. I can see very clearly my forest though, and at the time I could picture it vividly and it was almost as though I was there but not fully. Is this F12 (Monroe) and I was almost in focus 2 (Frank). At times I would completely be gone and snap back to a consciousness that is slightly below F10 with little memory of what had happened.

I suppose my question is how does it feel to see, but not through your physical eyes?

I'm sorry if this is just a long rambling, but I'm new to this and it is extremely complicated for me to explain what I mean.

No, no Apologies, you are doing great and seem to have a decent handle on a very esoteric subject, bravo.

F12 begins when you pretty much stop relying on your eyes for information. This is very similar to you not relying on your body for sensory information when F10 begins. So the black goes to black vastness. Yes, terribly vague, but that is the most concise way of describing it. Make sure you don't move your eyes for a while and get lost in your thoughts, or better yet, this forest you have made up. When you come out of your 'imagination' (it may take up to 7 or 8 ebbs into this visualization and back) you will eventually start to sense what F12. It will be a crisp change. Either there or not there, no in between.

So again, it is vast blackness, like you are on the top of a mountain looking off into a pitch black horizon. Vastness all around you. Another description would be like you are floating in the center of a very very large black sphere. You can sense the expanse around you, but it is all empty.

Cheers,
Contenteo

When I "switch", it's indistinguishable from physical sight. It can be even better. I've had times where I opened my physical eyes to prove to myself they had been closed when I was "seeing".

Thanks for the help. :-)  I feel so much better now.

Contento, I think that I actually have been to focus 12, but not on purpose. It kind of snapped and it was around me very suddenly. I only maintained it for what seemed like 2-3 minutes. My problem is when the visuals get stronger, I move my physical eyes.

Also, does body jewelry affect anyone when they are meditating? I have a tongue ring and have had it for years, but I occasionally become aware of it while meditating.

I am sure you have.  :-D Once you get the hang of this stuff, it is really quite easy. You seem to be doing splendidly. Keep up the good work.

Remember. Practice the path you will take before bed in order to prepare for attempts in the early morning.

Cheers,
