I just wanted to say good-bye to everyone here, and thank you for the views you have offered, especially those that challenged my own. I have decided it is time for me to move on with my life and I no longer feel the need to post on forums. I hope that I have improved the lives of those I have tried to help in psychic self-defense, even if just a little. I wish future victims the best of luck in their quest for healing. To the rest of you, I have enjoyed the chats and discussions. Unfortunately I got way too worked up about political stuff, which I consider both a good quality and a flaw. I feel it was good that I was concerned, but there really is not much that I alone can do to change the world, so I will just try to improve whatever community I am in by writing free music (that's right, I'm a composer for those of you who didn't know- I write techno and electronic music) and eventually set up a website so that people all over the world can download it. I would also like to try my hand at inventing. I hope to come up with things that will revolutionize environmentally friendly ways of getting energy and cleansing the world's water.
You don't have to reply, I probably won't be back to check, as it would tempt me into replying, thus not making this my last post, and making me a liar. [:D]
Take care and best wishes,
Ender
Hi Ender,
Thanks for your contribution and do come back soon :)
Stephen
P.S. What in Earth is all this 'Homeland Security Act' stuff. It sounds hauntingly very much like the 'Prevention of terrorism Act' we have had to enjoy in the UK and in particular N Ireland for decades.
For example it's said that 1,000 cameras will have clocked your movements if you spend an hour in central London! So we good old Brits are rather used to a Police/Big brother State! Whether thats a good thing or not is another question altogether!
Ender has left the building.
Bye
Even though you probably won't read this, good luck in life, Ender. I would love easy energy and cleaner water, and music has certainly never harmed anyone either. :)

Meh, it's not that big of a deal yet.
Being photographed isn't a big problem, but phone calls are closely monitored and probably moreso the web as well. And.. a follow-up bill to an already-existing act will be
devastating to our rights if it ever passes, and the Bush Administration has suggested it wants such further bills passed. It isn't too bad yet, though, at least 'legally'.
After 9/11 a bill was passed called the 'Patriot Act'. It allows authorities to search you without a warrant or without even telling you that you're being searched. They can get your financial records, video rentals, library records, church/religious activity, etc. They can also tap or bug any phone lines they want, whenever they want. Same for your internet connections. They can also monitor any computer that the target 'may' use. They won't even disclose how many times they've done these things. It's supposed to be for national security, but honestly, what intelligent terrorist doesn't use public access to the phone/internet? The fact that they haven't found any terrorists may be a hint.
And if they bring in Patriot II/Victory/Whatever else they may call it..
A lot that the Patriot Act does is supposed to expire this year, but a follow-up bill was leaked into the media over a year ago that continues the act's policies and adds even more, notably that it can revoke citizenship and excommunicate citizens as it pleases, as long as there is 'evidence' that doesn't necessarily even have to be revealed in court according to the Patriot Act. A massive DNA database would also be created to keep track of citizens. Secret arrests can be made until an actual charge has been filed. Officers carrying out illegal searches will be granted immunity.
Surveillance of citizens by foreign governments would be permitted. The death penalty will cover 15 new offenses.
The sequel bill will be so destructive to our rights as citizens, that it isn't going to pass easily. Patriot had a hard enough time passing, even after 9/11. It wasn't until the anthrax scares at Congress that it passed. For the next bill to ever pass, I wouldn't even want to imagine what would have to happen to scare us all into accepting it. Hopefully it never will pass, but we'll just have to see. Ashcroft himself said these things will be 'incremental'. Hard for something to be incremental in a single bill.
Good luck, Ender. Finding clean and efficient sources of energy is a noble area of study. When I graduate from business school, I hope to assist enterprises that make this happen.
QuoteI tried leaving once too, but it did't work
Me too ;)
There is no gubmerment. Bush doesn't exist and neither does Iraq. Ok, you take a plane to Iraq, land, the pilot says "we're now in Iraq"
But are you really? I think that everything on the TV and news is just a bad rerun of a bad movie that will not end. Pay no attention to it. It's all EGO and FEAR based and it is what is destroying humanity. You have all the answers you need, right in your own head. Think about it.
Kevin
Aaawww well, see ya's out there in the big wide world one day.
If you ever do get round to the inventing thing, remember to let me know!
Good luck in your travels.
Rob
Good luck.
