Yes I have read the trilogy. In fact, I own all three books in paperback. They're really good. I personally think that they are a demonstration of Phillip Pullman's own personal theory on other dimensions, worlds, etc.

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

Cool, someone here reads them. I just thought they were a story until recently I've been reading about Astral stuff and realised how everything that happens is very similar to this. Maybe PP can Astral Project? Who knows. I met him once at a speaking and got my book signed ^^ He's pretty eccentric, which is no bad thing.

Oh yeah, I've read those.
They were ok books.

My fav series of all time though, has to be The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. A VERY long read, but WELL worth it. (Though you have to pay attention to all the details or you'll get VERY bored.)

In that series, their dreamworld reminds me a LOT of APing.

I just noticed another odd similarity. I was just reading Robert Bruce's stuff on auric sight, and found out about the 2 sheets of glass that he held up, to be able to see auras. In the book, Mary Malone is able to see Dust by using 2 sheets of amber and looking through them. This can't be coincidental...

Has anyone read Philip Pullman's trilogy 'His Dark Materials'? They're really excellent. If anyone has, do you think a lot of the things are relevant to Astral Pulse? Like the I Ching, Dust and the part in the Amber Spyglass when Ms. Malone's spirit is pulled out of her body.
