Hello

I've been trying to think of ways to do this. I've thought of trying obes(phasing, astral projecting). While I'm still working on that. I was wondering if any of you guys felt like doing one thing or another put you on the right trail. I've been told lots of what either people think is real or maybe the truth. I'd just like to find out for myself. Any suggestions?

Yes.

Its your intuition, and there's an easy way you can practice using it.

Your own spirit self can give you all the guidance you could possibly need by way of your intuition.
Intuition will always guide you along exactly the right path for you to travel.

Notice I emphasise "you".
Truth is very much a subjective and individual thing.
Barring a few universal truths like - jump off a cliff and the sudden stop at the bottom will be a problem for you, many "truths" are what is right or wrong for you personally. Nobody else can tell you what those truths are, only you can.

Learn to trust your intuition, and the feelings you get when faced with a decision about what is or isn't the truth.

As this all comes from within you, there is a really easy practical way you can come to know what your own spirit self (or your higher self, your subconscious, your higher conscious, that part of you which is connected to the greater knowledge and wisdom) has to say about something:

It's called "body - ku" I've only heard a few spiritual teachers refer to it, so I doubt you'll be able to do a web search on it.

body-ku / intuition exercise:

First sit and relax, calm both your body and your mind, just as if your about to meditate.

Imagine something really wonderful. Bring to mind an event that made you really happy. Feel that warm "glowing" feeling that you get in your chest - around your heart. This is your inner YES answer.

Now imagine something terrible. Bring to mind a really sad of fearful situation. You get that heavy sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. This is your inner NO answer.

To use your inner YES/NO answers, think of something you want an answer to. Bring that thought to the front of your mind, and make it a clear question that can be easily answered by a yes or no. Speak the question out loud if you wish. Now feel for your body's response. See if you get the warm heart-felt YES, or the sinking gut-felt NO.

That is your intuition acting on your body in a physical way to give you the true answer for you. You may also get in between answers - neither YES or NO, or a little of both. This just means either the answer or the question is not clear.

:exclamation:

The more you practice this, the more automatic it becomes. Also the more you do this, and the more you trust and act on your intuition, the stronger a guiding force it becomes in your life.

People who have learned to use their intuition know what is true for them. They also know when they are being told lies, when they are about get into a bad deal, and also when someone is being true to them, or when they are going in the right direction.

Always keep in mind though what is true for one person is not necessarily true for another.

Blessings,
James.

I believe that if you want to know if something is true, pray and ask God.  Many people in your life will tell you many things about God...but the one thing you should know is that there is a God.  Everyone understands what God is in different ways, and that's fine.  I believe you can ask God if something is true and then you will feel or sense if it is true in both your heart and your mind.  By heart, of course, I mean that something will be communicated to your spirit, or that which you truly are.

You must let go of all you have learned and your most cherished beliefs, especially ideology.  Empty your mind of the thoughts that constantly distract us, mentally ask your questions and be prepared for answers that you will not like, but you will know to be true.  Challenge these truths with every ironclad argument you can come up with in the same manner.  Understand that not everything will be revealed to you, simply because we are here to learn by experience and any information that interferes with future experience will not be revealed to you.  It is a process and takes time, but once it begins you can never go back (nor will you want to).  Hope this helps. My motivation was my idealistic nature not being in sync with what I observed all around me.

I agree with migs. You first need to see your true nature – that you are the sum of every experience you have been apart of to-date. Everything you see yourself to be has been built from 'external' knowledge,
So look at yourself. Look at your desires, beliefs, predijucies, likes, dislikes, and see where they really came from. Are they simply learnt from a young age, or the result of learnt knowledge? Pull everything part and rebuild yourself on a level of personal knowledge.
People take too much for granted, they think they know themselves – yet a lot of their knowledge is based on unknowns. How much of a persons belief is based on such things as 'souls', 'mind', 'consciousness', 'sub-consciousness' etc? And how much more knowledge and belief structures are built upon these concepts and beliefs? And how much do people know about these things other than at 3rd hand knowledge gained from others and books?
What I am getting at is that most people have an entire outlook and personality built upon unknown preconceptions. They will argue and say they know such things- but unless one brushes aside what they think they know and try and truly discover what these things are to them personally (which might take a form which words cannot be attached to) they will never truly know themselves. Ego hates being wrong and so will say this is nonsense – and it will continue to be lost.
Seeking truth (which seems to be relative) is a long process, but one which is infinitely rewarding – although it can be scary at times.
Good luck! :)

MindFreak

Little exercise you can try right here and now. Our minds are always filled with random thoughts that never end and always go off on tangents. After a thought of any kind, they are always there, forget about the thought itself and look at where it came from. Look back at your mind. Observe the observer. Observe your own mind without judgement. This leads to kensho/satori (seeing into ones own nature).

It's easy... just stop your mind.  Stop yourself.  Stop your universe.  Then you will SEE without bias, witouth judgement.
