How was your Good Friday?

OK, anybody here can tell me why is it called Good Friday here in USA? I'm from Latvia and in our language it`s Big Friday, if translated literally...

Its supposidly called good friday in the u.s. because the crusifiction lead to good things. But im not toatally sure.

My Good Friday was a very emotional experience for me. I actually took the time to fully appreciate what Jesus did for me... did for all of us. I can't believe I've been denying to myself the truth hidden in the pages of the Bible for all these years. I couldn't face it... I felt like I could never be good enough for God, so I tried to pretend he wasn't real, and that evil was the only thing for me. But I was wrong, Jesus forgives everything... even my sins... even my thoughts... and as I long as I have faith in him, and repent for all I have done, and dedicate my life to him, I can live in peace and love forever. I hope everyone can come with me.

For me too...first time in my life I actually believed in what I was doing going to church etc. After going thru much suffering myself I was able to recognize,  see and appreciate what Jesus had done for us. What an amazing experience. I had never been so emotional before. I guess I never truly believed in Jesus before, no matter how hard I tried. This year watching a movie about Jesus made me cry, I so felt what was going on and I caught myself asking: how could they do this to him?!

Yeah, my Good friday was a very good experience. I went to a latin non schismatic service and it was absolutely amazing. The veneration was actually done by the  entire congregation as well as beautiful Gregorian Chants. It was just a very uplifting day. And tyciol I hope to see you in heaven!

In addition, I think we've all had a very wonderful April Fool's day. I'm so used to having it come before Good Friday and Easter, but having it after does make for some interesting changes.
