I think it is. In Mr.Bruces book, he says he can do it and "wake up" full of energy.
No sleeping and meditation are nowhere close. When you meditate you are consious but do not think of anything(Maybe one thing). Meditation is not for energy it is dicsipline of the mind.
Well what if you fall asleep meditating? can you still be meditating while your asleep. Or if you program your-self or meditate at the same time every day for a month and then you start going to sleep earlier then would you meditate while sleeping every night at the time you used to.[;)]
No that would'nt work you half to be awake. Otherwise you can't stop your mind from drifting. As a matter of fact you mind has to drift to fall asleep
Try meditating in your sleep. You'll wake up with immense power and energy.
And yes, I've managed to do it before.
well looks likes i put this topic in the right place after all.
and it also seems to me that i made a good discussion...
so please feel free to tell me more of sleeping vs meditation.....
enderwiggin- how do you meditate whilst being asleep? that sounds really interesting, do you mean meditating until you feel your body fall asleep ?
like a meditation which last so long that your body and mind naturally fall into a sleep but you remain *aware*?
shenron- sleep and meditation are similar i think, they both release our innate fundamental awareness from its self imposed prison. But the means of sleeping and meditating are different. I think though they both serve very similar purposes, but with sleep being natural and meditating being more something man has learned and incorporated into his life.
To meditate in your dream, all you have to do is be dreaming, then decide to meditate.
I think sleeping is more relaxing than direct meditation, howevr others believe that you build energy while you sleep, however, in my opinion, you arent building energy, you are replenishing what was used.

Not exactly, I sometimes concentrate on the music I listen to OR a still image and I fall asleep.
well how i look at it people that dont dream{something might be holding them back from that} or anything along those lines might be forms of meditation... i really dont know.

We all dream, no denying that. Its just remembering it... The 'public' view is, if you didn't wake up thinking about the dream you just had, then they think you did not have a dream.
I often feel pretty much the same after a good nights sleep and a good meditation session, energized and ready to go, though sometimes meditating too much in a day without activity makes you groggy, but thats just lack of blood flow. But meditation is more of a traing session for your brain, sleeping is letting your neurons cool down and idle or whatever. And Ender you need to show me how to mediate in my sleep, I always fall asleep meditating at night! Grrr....
sorry didn't no where to put this topic. so pls excuse me if im wrong.
just want to no weither it is or not. cause i heard it was and it wasn't. just want to clear up the whole matter.
