Are you holding out on us? I swear I won't steal your idea. Why not share with us here in order to get some people to say it works really well? Maybe even get some feedback to perfect the idea?

Tom, yes I am holding back! I won't deny being the shy one!  The idea came to me last night before falling asleep.  I realized that there are a lot of people who don't practice reality checks (whether they know about them or not).  My product will help put them into play.  Reality checks are great, because they help with dreaming AND projections.  I posted the question earlier because I wasn't sure if the product exists ...still researching it!

Tom

A product which comes to mind was a screensaver which suggests doing reality checks. I did not buy it because it is easy enough to just use the normal windows screensaver to have text going across the screen making the suggestion.

Setting the hourly chime on my watch did not work. Usually I did not hear it.

Thank you Tom! I guess others are skipping across this thread, but I'm glad you replied.  I didn't know of the screen saver. That seems a little silly.  I remember that Robert suggested to do reality checks while eating, drinking, using the bathroom, etc.  I never remember to do them at those moments.  I study my dreams and keep a thought in mind to try to become lucid at patterns.  (does that make sense?) So, what I'm saying is that my personal experience with them need to be more then a passing thought, and need to happen during the day to become habitual.  I did find some similar products but nothing like I had in mind (yet). Plus they were expensive.  P.E.S.T. was $150! That's crazy!

For over a year, I had a notebook next to my bed to record dreams in. My plan was to find things in dreams that I also experience during waking hours. That way I could learn to do reality checks when they occur. The more I tried, the less successful I was. My dream recall decreased and the number of spontaneous lucid dreams dropped substantially. It seems that the more I try to learn something like this, the less likely it is to happen on its own. It was the same way with seeing auras, not that I've really developed this, either. The couple of out-of-body experiences I've had were all spontaneous and when I was trying to do something else. Note to self? What I want to know is if your invention will bypass the kind of effort that seems to cause things to get worse for me.

Tom, I can't tell you if it'll work for you or not. I'm basing it on what I like and what I think would be most convenient.  I don't want to annoy you by generally stating my idea, so I'll tell you that it is a watch with an alarm. You can set it to go off as often as you like... every 2,3,4 hours, whatever.  The feature that makes it nice is that it vibrates rather then beeps. I've already found this item, but wouldn't it be nice if it was cheap?!   hmmm

Tom

Cheap is always a good thing. Vibrating would be better than sound. With my cheap digital watch making noise every hour it was only once or twice during the day I actually heard it. A steady ten seconds or so of vibrations is more than enough and generally not as likely to disturb other people. I have a pager for my job and because of the headphones I wear with my MP3 player it is necessary to keep the pager on vibrate. This is what I like to call setting it on stun, because it is so disruptive when it goes off.

I'd be greatful if anyone knows of lucid dreaming or projection devices.  I know that sounds weird.  I can think of a few, like CDs or the Nova (rem state triggers a flashing light), etc.  I recently had an idea for an invention and need to look around to see if it's already been made!    ...So if you know of sites, that will help!  Thanks
