Title: I need some clarification on the Trance
Post by: FateTrader on December 10, 2012, 13:43:56
Hello guys.

I'll start with a short intro. Few years back I had what I think it was a Lucid Dream. I was fully aware and the dream istelf was super vivid and real the only comparison I can think of is that it was like a Halucination never before I had anything like it and I remembered it perfectly. I enjoyed it so much that I got interested in the subject.

I tried for a while without much luck to get similar experience and eventually gave up (in the time of few months I only had 2 LDs and none of them was even in 10% of clarity and vividness of the first one).

Then few months ago after long trip I slept about 8-10 hours but when I woke up it was still night (I went to bed early), so I he decided to sleep more. While I was laying and trying to fall asleep, after not long, maybe 10-20min I started to feel or maybe better describe it as hear in my head a buzzing noise it was only few seconds but it was the feeling of falling into a Trance state as I recently read in Robert Bruce's Astral Projection Treatises.
Whole happening was like this, I felt buzzing and in a split second I felt sudden quick drop through bed down to a dream (Trance) state, I didn't loose consciousness at all. I found myself in a fairly uninteresting dream as it was a room I never seen before and things were a bit different than in reality so I am assuming it was an Astral Projection of a kind.

Now to the point.

After reading Adtral Projection Tretises. I tried only couple times so far the technique described there to achieve AP. here's what I do:

Now my question is, what to do to get into the trance? If I lay and constantly think of not thinking to clear my mind it tires me a bit but my mind is to active to fall asleep. When I unleash my mind and let it imagine I fall asleep quickly but I am loosing the awareness of whole process. Sometimes I try for an hour or longer and nothing I can't get into.

How do you guys do it?

Hi...from what i know, you try to take your awaereness with you as you go to sleep....your body should be sleeping and your mind should be awake...a couple of nights back,i tried this and i got frustrated as i couldnt bring my physical body to sleep...then i cursed my own inability to get a projection and i went to sleep....couple of minutes later,i was startled by a whoosh sound and i saw weird images behind my eyes and i also felt vibrations throughout my body....at this point i didnt know what to do and i concentrated on my breathing and the vibrations went away and i was back to square one....i am a beginner.....try relaxing your body and try to keep your mind alert as your body falls asleep..you should find yourself in the trance state after somtime..(i think this is how it should be done)...

I try to be alert when I do it but when I strictly keep my mind clear as described in the treaties it is somehow preventing me from falling asleep, my mind is just to busy keeping itself clear (I know it sound silly). Probably I need a lot of training so it is not so hard for the brain to sustain this state.

Is it allowed to let imagination loose so that my mind would be more relaxed and just keep my attention on the process of falling asleep? This way I would actually have some chance to get asleep.

Mind awake body asleep is whats required. You're doing fine.
You need to become one within your mind and totally remove any connection with the physical body. It all happens from there.

I second Szaxx comment. I can get into trance but I can never let go of my physical body. I have so much trouble with that. I have actually traind my mind in the wrong way. The best way is to focus on something that has nothing to do with the physical body, like on the blackness on the back of your eyelids. This is all personal to, what works for you.

I am practicing it every night and as many have said it ain't easy but I hope to join this elite circle eventually.

What is best to do while doing it, try to not think at all or to think about leaving the body (i.e. rope, ladder... whatever)?

I'd just experiment and see what happens. Try not to over think it.

Thanks Szaxx, I will read it. (I couldn't reply PM as it is disabled)

p.s. Funny thing this night, I had couple of dreams and I remember them quite vividly. In one of them I was in a school where there on the notice board was an invitation to the Astral Projection classes (How did I not realize it is a dream...) anyway I got interested and some girl said her friend was taking this classes and called her so I could speak with her, she answered while being in a TRANCE, Damn! again  I didn't realize I am dreaming... But it looks like I am getting closer :)

ChopstickFox you might be right, I am so busy thinking of not to think or about rope or other technique that it is preventing me to relax enough, (damn it is hard ;) ) I will keep trying, and will post my thoughts about it

There are two main things I do to get myself into the 'trance'... Because the actual state is very recognisable and is a sudden flip into a different 'head space'.

These days I can slip into it there and then... but that's useless information for you. It's like me saying as an experienced artist... "you just draw"

I sometimes have to actively induce when I'm very awake... and I remember what I used to have to do and what I have instructed friends and people to do in the past.

My actual methods are auditory or visual (more phasing-like) in nature.

I basically listen for a word or phrase I have picked... or sometimes I imagine a conversation. It's like when you think you can hear something at night and you turn your whole focus into it... but I listen for something specific and expect to hear it. Usually the imagined audio will take on a life of its own and 'jump out'... this is when I phase... like falling over the precipice or slipping over the edge... just using metaphors.

If I lay there and not too tired and start focusing straight away my mind starts to just play its little merry thoughts... which can be quite exhausting and leads me usually to get frustrated and start focusing on how annoying every little interruption can be.

So what I do is just keep my mind in a 'need to do something' thought while I just relax as I would if i was just going to sleep. Usually I will after a while realise I've been lying there letting my mind do its thing and will need to change position. Or I will simply remember that I have to do my thing. It's like the feeling when you are trying not to nod off during a lecture or when you shouldn't be sleeping.

Then I will start the listening exercise. The state usually hits me very soon afterwards.

Alternatively I sometimes at the point of getting my thoughts done.. instead of auditory stimulation I will turn my attention to what I see and the same thing happens... my vision takes on a passive quality of its own where images randomly show themselves... then my state flips... or rather... I realise I am there.

Hope this also helps.

It is quite helpful Bedeekin, this is exactly how I feel falling into the "other side" kind of like dropping down suddenly. Reminds me the scene from the movie trainspotting, when the main character is laying on the red stretcher after taking some drugs and he sinks into it.

As you say when trying to do it when not to tired mind is just jumping through different thoughts and keeping it clear is very exhausting and leads to frustration, with me is that when I realize that I already have been laying like so for an hour lets say I just think, oh well it is time to let it go and sleep so then right after I release my mind I fall asleep quickly (unfortunately unconsciously) so I think I still need to find this balance where I feel the moment of falling asleep so far I only once felt it and it was natural I wasn't looking for it. Good I at least know how it feels so I know what to look for.

I have read your Astral Blueprint and I have to say it's very good and explains a lot but after reading it I am a little bit scared or maybe worried if I should proceed further with my quest of NPR. You are saying that some of the people have actually experienced a "hell dimension", Robert Bruce wrote similar thing in the email you receive when signing up for his free astral dynamics book. I quote

"I can now get out of body and astral travel almost
instantly. I've explored the upper astral heavens, met
angels and ascended masters, and I've been to the lower
devilish realms, and encountered demons."

I have a question to not only you szaxx but everyone who is doing NPR. According to what I read so far on this subject, It seems like it is am accepted believe that this non physical planes of existence are not just each individuals imagination but a common place where thoughts, feelings projections are being transferred during sleep, NDE and death. Kind of a centralized database where everything is being continuously stored from the beginning of time (if such exists). Do you believe this theory? Because if you do this means that heaven and hell exist quite literally and after death we will be in one of this planes.

I had a personal experience of my thought been transferred to someone I know during sleep, which has made me profoundly worried because I realized that there is much more in life I previously thought. I am a bit torn now, what to do If I open this "Pandora box" I might not like what I find inside and it may be to late to go back then because once you know something it changes everything and nothing looks the same anymore (as they say ignorance is bliss) from the other hand I can't stop thinking about it.

What are your thought about it all guys?

It's not at all bad. The hell dimension comment was a private acknowledgment thing for those who did this alone way back. It can't happen now, we'd recognise a comment and give an answer to remedy it. No names out of respect.
Your first outings would easily match your intentions. That said groups of like minded people attract and that still applies, moreso.
Going to a lower frequency (bad) place is a lot harder than going to a suitable location, as a beginner you'll more likely be in a familiar surrounding that is safe.
Keep your thoughts in perspective, its all controlled by them. The fear you have is definately the first thing to work on.
Have none, know you're in a safe place and have the time of your life.
Theres bad things in the physical world and you never really know when youre in the wrong place at the wrong time. This random event I've never known in the NPR's.
I've visited some nasty places and protection was very apparent.
I asked questions about good and bad to my guide when learning the wider reality and its extremes, this visit happened when I was old enough to understand what I had done for the previous years of RTZ excursions.
I was around 9 years old and the places visited still clear in my memory after 40+ years.
Go for it with an open mind. Nothing can harm you. The worst that can happen is you scare yourself. After that you simply wake up kicking yourself for being so silly.
I can't count the places visited, too many and they are all worth the experience. Some are that pleasant you never want to return to this physical world.
If you are suspicious about anyone you meet, ask them "what's your intent?"
They will communicate with you or simply dissapear. Very few dissapeard in my many years and I actually followed one which scared the soul to a stupor. I settled the disruption so long as he never worried anyone else. The bad guys really are pathetic.

Go for it. Once you've mastered the new physics You'll never look back. It opens up your mind to a limitless supply of new learning. It shines a light on life like nothing the physical world can offer.
I should be in sales... :-D

I have undergone Retrievals in places that seemed like Hell. Was it the real Hell or that person's personal Hell is the question?  :|

Thanks Szaxx for clarification, I am going to keep on trying until I all the corners in my peg are round :)

What about the planes themselves can you actually meet with someone there for real or are they just personal spaces? Lionheart do I get it right that you have been sort of in someone else's dream to help him?

It wasn't in someone elses Dreams. It was a deceased person that for some reason got stuck in a continual loop and could not move on.

For more info on this, use the top right hand corner search engine and search for "Retrieval(s)".

Right I get it, what do you belief personally, are all your projections in your opinion just personal thing or you regard them as a lets say "common play ground"?

The number of locations you could go are limitless. They are mostly occupied by entities who share some commonality. Its quite difficult to give an accurate perspective based on a physical world existance. The nearest to it could be looked at very loosely in the myriad of groups sharing their interests on say Yahoo. You may not find a car sales teacher whos 100% sales and nothing else on a theological site dealing in depth on the subject of the belief system present within the inner tabernacle on a Sunday.
Both are totally unrelated but the depth and passion shared by each group is honoured. Assume no members are discordant with another.
For everyone a place there is..
