I was wondering if any projectors from Edinburgh would like to talk about astral projection and their experiences as I do not know anyone else here who is even aware of it never mind indulged in the trip.

By the way I'm also in a rock'n roll band and we have our 1st gig in Nectar in the cowgate on the 21st October.

You could try the Koestler Institute and/or "Chair" of parapsychology at Edinburgh University.They are headed by Dr Robert Morris who is very interested in OBE research.

Hi Lydus, you are not alone....

I believe that my fellow moderator Douglas (Gandalf) is also from Edinburgh.  Oh, and so am I, before I forget !

Only difference being, I think Douglas still lives there, whereas I'm a few thousand miles away, so might not be able to make your gig on the 21st !

Talking about OBE / astral projection is hard. It is all too easy to enthusiastically bring up the subject amongst friends, and find them staring back at you in bemusement !

All I can say on the matter is good luck and choose your words wisely !

As Clandestino says, I am from Edinburgh, Scotland. Nice to see someone else here who is actually into AP. Maybe I should check out your band!

It would be great if there was some kind of informal club or get-together for AP interested people but I have not come across one, in Edinburgh or anywhere else for that matter. Maybe the subject is just too weird for most people

Am i right in thinking the band Lydus is in is actually called OBE because i'm sure i saw a band with that name advertised somewhere recently.

Right then...who is really game for this? It would have to be somewhere open that has many exits...we all know how weird OBE people are.

I think that is a very negative, frankly not very helpful response.

At the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with some friendly banter,
in a real meeting with your peers here.

If you do think, they are weird, and not your scene, just don't appear at the next meeting - that really isn't complicated is it?  I mean you just make some excuse and don't up to future meetings.  Is one meeting really  going to mess your life up so much?
Heck, bring some people/friends you know as protection if you feel so insecure.  But I don't honestly believe you meant what you said.

Frankly, you are the one who's looking a little weird for not making any bloody effort at all.

And they say Astral Projectors and New Agers, are more open minded, friendly, and have more expanded minds than average person.

I have one rule on forums, don't reply directly  to moderators or communicate with them directly, the power of being a moderator goes to their heads.

I mean should you really be a moderator here, if you can't be arsed to goto  one meeting with your peers on this forum?  I think if we put it to the vote, I think not.

I am a moderator on a *web based* forum. That's what I'm signed up for and that's what I do.

If people want to meet up for real then that is fine and they can do so.
However, it is ALSO alright if I, or anybody else for that matter, decide that they DON'T want to meet up in pubs etc. That is MY choice and I don't have to feel bad just because I don't subscribe to your cosy ideas of what 'new age' people should do.

Live with it.
