Logical thought processes-body asleep vs. body awake.

I've noticed this many times: I'll be in the body asleep/mind awake mode, and I'll realize that my thought processes are completely alien to what I would call normal.I don't even have words to describe it.After I realize how different it is, I realize that when I bring my body back "on-line" I'll probably have no clue as to what I was thinking about.

Then, when I return to physical reality I find that I remember bits of it.I can't understand it at all, and it quickly fades away.

What the hell is this :?:    :?

sometimes (rarely) i have the same problem. Its similar to a weird dream, lik eif was not the guy in the thought process.

Its very weird because its similar to death, real death of the EGo i mean, because i stop to be who i am...so strange, but after wake up i think its somewhat good because i learn a little more about death process of mind and teachs e what to do when i die..i think...what i have learned now its that i really need to improve concentration on here and now and learn how to have a very lucid mind on any situation because that wil help me when i die during the death process.

Its what i think althought these are crazy thoughts.
I love you!

Hey Kazbadan-

Thanks for the reply. :) Your thoughts aren't so crazy-I've read a book called "The Tibetan Book of Living & Dying" by Sogyal Rinpoche (I think that's the name), that talks about death in that manner (preparation, loss of ego & what we label as "ourselves").

To me, it's like catching a glimpse into our higher order of reality, & seeing a bit of what we are, on a level larger than basic physical reality.Unfortunately, there seems to be a deep chasm between what we really are, & what are physical perceptions tell us.This seems to be the source of every type of suffering on the planet.People underestimate themselves terribly.

Budhism can be of a great help for us to learn about suffering, death, love and life.

Nowdays i dont meditate (dont have patient and time) but when i used to do that, sometimes i would reach a strange mental state similar to the one that we both described. I was almost starting to realise that we are not this "i" or "me" or "myself".

Dreams are not like meditation but they allow people to reach a similar stage of the mind, only in a different way. With meditation you reach the state by direct knowledge and direct view of things while still having your mind very lucid.

With dreams you reach such state because when you fall asleep you are, in  a certain way, dying. Some buddhist schools use sleep states as a way to learn more about death. When you fall asleep your counsciouness will cease gradually...you become less lucid and your Ego "dilutes" himself withreality. You lose your ego.

Maybe its that makes me have such strange dreams (like in my 1st post on this thread)...i lose my identity and thenmy mind creates a new one for some moment.

Now i see that such dreams are teaching me an ancient buddhist lesson: we die and born at the same time every single moment. There is nothing that we can call "myself" or "me" or "i".

You have a great way of putting this :)
And i totally agree :)
You begin to feel there is really no I or ME
Just everything every moment every instance
is really this one instance... This all everything :)
