I just saw a test screening for The Chronicles of Narnia; The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
Grade: B+
Est. Gross: $325 M
Running Time: Apprx 2hrs. 30mins
The special effects were yet to be finalized in a lot of places, especially the end, and obnoxiously the end battle. But, from what special effects were completed they were very good.
The film will likely get many Oscar noms, and possible Best Picture. I also think Narnia will be the highest grossing film of the Winter season. Even though I have yet to see King Kong, I belive most people will like Narnia more.
The development of the "bad guys" was lacking in the story. Most of the good guys were well developed. The acting was decent with the most notable being from Liam Nesson doing the voice of Aslan, and whoever acted as the Faun guy, Tamus or whatever his name is. The adaption was true to the book. A lot was cut out. Especially towards the end.
The movie does not drag at all. The begining is just a little slow but the most developed part of the movie. The ending can still use a lot of work. The ending goes way, way to quick and the scenes just are not well developed towards the ending. However, the movie is pretty good.
The music was very good but the screening I saw had some stand in music from Gladiator and LOTR.
A lot of people will like the end battle but it is a giant rip of the LOTR battles. I also thought the battle could use a little more development. I wanted to see more. Considering the battle sequences are yet to be completed, my opinion can not be called completely valid on this section. However, I still think they should add a little more meat to the battle.
This is all I can think of right now. If anyone has any questions please ask. I will try to answer them but I am going to bed soon.
Thanks for the review, I was hoping they wouldn't screw this movie up. I used to love these books when I was young.

I didn't know that they were making a new movie about Chronicals. I watched the old movies, read all the books, but of cours The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe was my favorite.
Thanx for the update and review!
