So, we apparently have lists of what each hemisphere of the brain "supposedly" does... how exactly did they come up with these lists?
brainscans whilst performing different tasks
well, it's relatively obvious that the brain is divided into hemispheres and the rest of the human body is symmetrical.
in truth, both hemispheres work together all the time, but like NoY said, measurment during different tasks.
And the measurements during tasks has been found to be equal amongst everyone tested?
There were no anomalies?
of course there are anomalies. its the human fricken brain.
it's a common misconception that the brain is so equally split.
it's not really like that. so much of both hemispheres work together to produce our experience, to process it. it's not black or white, 0 or 1. however, we can see which areas of the brain tend to light up (with electrical currents) in certain situations. in general it seems that more of the left side is active when someone is reasoning, while the right seems more active when emoting. but it's still a collaborative effort.
Thank you sir :)
you tried this exercise?

It helps you see if you're dominating one side or the other of your brain or if you're balanced.
I've read that it's not literally "left/right" in your brain, but more of a description of the group of qualities that define how a person is using there brain. In other words, a person using their right-brain actually has neurons firing on the left side, front, back, as well, but there are particular things like analytical thinking that is associated with being "right-brained". (I think that's "right").
Correct me if I'm wrong.
analytical is left, intuitive is right. (taking into account that left controls right and vice versa)
but otherwise yes.
