Lucid Dream School

I don't have a title for this at the moment. Maybe I'll think of one once I start.

I've had several lucid dreams over the years involving 'going to school'. Now I'm well past the age to attend school so these obviously are not about real life.

Anyway, what usually happens is a school bus is arriving, or I'm getting off a school bus, or I'm wandering around and wind up finding a school. Sometimes I am wearing a school uniform and am always younger than my current self. Now, these being lucid dreams, those are the situations I am in when I become lucid. I don't know why but every time I have this feeling of being pushed to enter the school. And every time I refuse (I do this consciously). That alone is odd behavior for me because in most lucid dreams I go with the flow, observe and learn without trying to manipulate the dream much at all.

I'm not looking for an interpretation of any one dream. I'm basically just looking to get your thoughts about this and see if anyone else has experienced a running 'school' theme.

I grew up in a fundamentalist christian home. I am no longer a typical christian by any stretch of the imagination but while I was a young christian my dad taught us that every dream was from God. And that we should pay attention to our dreams. Well I've written down quite a few of my dreams. And I can that it was a very long recurring theme throughout my life to be going to school or be at school in my dreams. Especially grammar school. Though usually not running at school. Though I have only had a small amount of dreams running. Personally I only find meaningful dream to be from the spiritual. They are the types of dreams where you know that you know that this was from your higher self/God/Source whatever you call it. I've only had like one or two dreams that I am sure they were from a higher power. Those are my thoughts.

The "school" theme is a classic symbol for aspirants who are serious about learning.

The bus is a symbol of group effort/direction.

Entering a classroom means you have chosen a course of study.

Refusal to enter the school reminds me of an old saying, "Sometimes you just have to get out of your own way".

Thank you for replying. My dreams are not about running, I just meant a recurrent theme. I do think someone is trying to tell me something. These particular dreams just feel different, so am not sure where they come from.

Okay, I can see your statements as being correct. But there seems to be something about 'group effort/direction' that puts me off. It feels very odd to me at that is why I always refuse to get on the bus, enter the class or enter the school. Usually I'm up to learning from any adventure. Thank you for your insights, I'm trying to figure out why this bugs me and hoping something will click.

Do you have unforgiveness in your heart? This is a big one that I think many look over.

Where you never an outcast or bullied at school?

If this is a recurring theme then I think it is a pretty straight-forward communication between your Higher Self/Teacher/Guide and your subconscious Self. You are being asked if you are ready for some new learning to begin; I'm guessing it's likely learning about the NP side of Reality. You have even recognized the "push" to enter the school but you have some resistance. Is the resistance PR-based, such as daily life, work, family, etc.? Or are there some beliefs or thinking that are possibly holding you back?

You already have a good idea of your level of awareness and control within a LD, you know how to operate within the environment. The teaching and testing will likely consist of being introduced into situations (Simulations) which will challenge you on many and differing levels. If you look back on some of your more prominent LDs, you may find some of this testing already happening including the school and school bus motifs.

Much of what I have read and experienced points to the idea that whether it's a NP teacher or your higher self, at some point we are asked to make a definite decision and declaration that we wish to begin learning.

Kurt Leland has an article that gives good perspective on this type of learning.

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
