There is a great book that I just reviewed in the Members Book Recommendations forum on Communicating with Animals that covers our spiritual connection with them. It also talks about their perceptions and feelings, for example. You may want to look at that review.

Hi Beowulf !

Here's my "theory". Take your average dog - we know it thinks about playing, food, other dogs. Most probably it thinks about other things too... But its needs are more basic than those of you and I.

As humans we are pre-occupied within the physical world. We mull over an infinite number of physical things, on a daily basis. This leaves little time for the non-physical.

Perhaps animals, who might naturally have less concern for physical objects, are highly attuned with a non-physical world. This might be a basis for their "ESP" powers.

Anyone who has grown up with pets like dogs and cats can attest that they perceive certain "things" that the majority of people cannot. Any thoughts or experiences that can attest to that? or contradict? Anyone know why they have that ability?
