So does anyone want to be a reverend for free? Click on the site above. Interesting how they now enable anybody with an internet connection to become a reverend. On one hand, I read the beliefs of the church and I do agree with most of them. However, I find it a bit odd that they would make anyone who asked them to a reverend/minister.

It does offer some insight though. A priest, a reverend, a clergyman, they are all just regular people. So, I guess why not? Heck, I think a lot of people on this site would probably make good religious leaders. Then again there are a lot who wouldn't. But there are already plenty of people who aren't good leaders who are allowed to be anyway.

In May, 1969 (yea, I'm old) I was then living in Florida and sent away to be a ULC minister as a joke. Over the years I never thought much about it until sometime in the late 80's a friend and his relationship asked if I could perform their marriage (here in California). So I found out I could, and did.

Since then, most recently April of last year in Maui, Hawaii, I've performed about a half dozen marriage ceremonies. All have been for friends who've asked me to.

So the point is, it's a handy certificate to have.

Yeah I decided to do it. I figure at least it might get me out of a war.

But truly what do the ordinances of man matter when God is with you? or even still, when You are with God? [|)]

i don't see the point of having a mere title. a friend of mine pointed out that site to me a few weeks ago and i was like "So what? I'm already a priest of God, what more could I need?"

Well the point of having the title is so you don't have to deal with all the legal crap. Plus, like I said, it might get you out of being drafted. [;)]

let them try and draft me [}:)]. i've had enough of the military (though it was fun [:D], it was also one helluva mind **** [:(!].)

and for the legal stuff, "If God is with me, who can stand against me?". i like knowing that God rules above all the rubish of mankind, so i like that i can put my faith solely in him and not have to worry about the rest of mankind. [|)] but that's just me.

Good point. I suppose everything happens for a reason. I am still not sure where my life is taking me but I think I'm going to find out soon. Having the title of reverend can be an advantage if I ever have to perform a ceremonial marriage for people. I would only do this for very good friends of mine though.
