Alien abduction or dream?

A hypothetical question: If you were, say, a newbie (we were all newbies once) - who'd heard of astral projection, but hadn't really done it yourself - and you also happen to believe that we're not alone in the universe; then one night you hear the odd noises and experience a frightening paralysis and see what appeared to be an alien in the room... all this feeling perfectly real... What would you think? That you'd been visited by an alien, perhaps been abducted and the memory partially blocked? Or that you'd just experienced sleep paralysis?

Been there, done that.  At first I thought I might have been abducted (grey entities were part of the scenario, it was very vivid) but after it happened a few times I realized my body wasn't going along for the ride, and the rest is history.

Hi,

Its part of the process. The entity you feel as a presence is actually you. This can be scarey at first as its all new but keep your mind on track, you can easily create a thought form that will run away with itself then you end up scareing yourself by yourself.
You have control...
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

A theory exists that most (if not all) alien abductions are simply sleep paralysis related.

Mine were- but there are people that have implants removed and such- although there's a lot of alternative theories about that, I'd say that the jury is still out on what could be going on with that.  So I wouldn't be as quick to dismiss those as I am other things.

Split consciousness? I've read about that but haven't yet experienced it (although I am not very experienced).. it kind of makes sense though.
