i've always wondered whether girls or guys are more inclined to dive into a of spiritual quest. Alot of the people on the forums seem to be guys .. its hard to tell when you all have wierd usernames! lol. Is there a way a moderator can find out the results of this in the member list?

I think the answer is yes, although I've never gone and tried it. Regardless, each individual member has the ability to hide or show their personal information. I don't believe it is within the moderator's realm to reveal that information if the user does not want it to be revealed. And if you are talking about just coming up with total male and total female users -- I don't think we can do that. We don't have any type of SQL functionality in the member list.

So, unless people want to volunteer the information, like through this thread or by 'showing' this particular piece of personal information, you will simply have to guess!

I have my theorie why we see more men here: men are more eremits than women; most of guys here are teenagers with no gfriend and with no social life or even a decent family. They seek something for such emptyness here on AP forums. And women....They are outhere seeking for a Magic Prince. id prolly agree there are a lot of teenage guys here.. but not so much cause they have no social life.. they're most likely here cause this stuff is 'cool' to quite a few that age.. it was that way for me a couple years ago

teenagers are able to work the internet in to their social life. the middle aged people i know either are on the net VERY little n have a more active social life. or are on the internet a lot more with hardly any social life. male or female.

you will of course find plenty people here ranging from 13 to 63 n beyond perhaps that have no social life, girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse, good family environment. so it's not really right to say thats why the teenagers are here. it is somewhat offensive.

i have an active social life... no girlfriend (i learnt after the last time heh).. and my family life.. fine.. n im 19 so still quite a teenager...

i agree with Syke. With the advent of things like myspace which actually BOOSTS social interactivity... the net is becoming much less labelled as for those with "nothing better to do". For instance, I had a party on the weekend with age rages from 18-26.. it was an even mix of agee ranges that spent thier time drinking and listening to music, or looking up silly videos and pictures in thier drunken state.

I think this 'emo' culture could do with some spiritual guidance!.. would certainly be more open to it than most too.

no i am just saying that there are a lot of newbies here and they are teenagers

btw, i think i will create a topc on that because i suspect on some new stupid people here...u know the kind of people that gives negative karma to everyone and specially give it to nice people like TalaNay....the kind of people that will be always asking how to move furniture with their mind and if there is anyway to create an Organization of Spiritual Warriors, and the kind of people that will create new nick names all the time so that will have plenty of options when they want to give negative or positiive karma points (like if that was an important social status measurment).

If you have less than 20 years have no social life and identify yourself with what i said, get out of the forum. This is for real people with serious intentions...not for kids pretending to be a Dragon Ball/power ranger character.

those kids aren't here to cause this negative energy you speak of. they are generally just missinformed.
a lot actually believe it is possible to create "ki balls" and move furniture with ones mind.

so dont outcast them... educate them.

if you always just send these teenagers away because they dont know how it really goes and they have all these outrageous expectations.. they'll never know the truth.. and probably stumble across a negative site like mysticweb... or psipog... that can be either damaging or just misleading.

good to see ill be acceptable to you in a few months when im no longer a "teenager".. even though im sure i've had more life experience than most adults i know of.
i think we all just need to be a little more accepting and patient with people.

I am not agaisnt teenagers, just against teenagers who think that they will part of a big thing, teenagers that are seeking for the Mystic Group of Ki Power or the Great Ninjas of the Powerful Psi Blows. I dont like them because they are the kind of people creating unlimited accounts on here and giving negative karma points to nice people (like Talanay for instance...instead of having 100 points as she deserve , she is almost near negative points).

Karma's just supposed to be for fun.
It also depends on the people who use it, and who reads that post.
Someone could post something great, but the only people that see it don't use the karma system.
Every time I see someone with a positive and/or thoughtful, helpful post I give them a point up. If they say something that's very useless (unless they tried to help), very negative, etc. I 'smite' them.
So, I try to say positive, nice, helpful things, and don't say negative things, but apparently people don't think like me. (I'm at 1)
But then there are others who don't use it at all.

yes but some of them take that too serious and try to hit and kick good people.

anyway, coming back on topic, at least in my country women are more concerned with daily life things and i can say almost the same about men. Anyone into paranormal is a crazy person.
