None whatsoever. Except for this: I heard that there is a movie coming out soon about remote viewing. Could be worth a look. Oh and I heard there was a movie about some girl named Carrie who gets psychic abilities.
There are lots of animes involving psychic abilities too, but more like superpowers though.

There was a movie that came out last year, I think, called Dragonfly. The principal actor in the film is Kevin Costner. It also has Kathy Bates and Linda Hunt.
Here's a link to a review of the film (which is now in the stores for rental):

Very best,
I totally forgot about Dragonfly. I've seen it three times now, it's a great movie.
How can anybody forget The Matrix, and The Matrix Releaded (one of the most talked about films at the moment)? I just saw the second and both are riddled with metaphysical philosophy.
Vanilla Sky is a great movie too.
Apart from that and the ones others mentioned i can't think of any at the moment.
Jacobs ladder. In a way.
well its good anyway.
DREAMSCAPE came out in the early 80's...it is completely about lucid dreams although i don't recall them mentioning the word lucid at all...
It's funny, I was just thinking that somebody should make a spiritual movie, anything related to the topics we write about.
I was very dissappointed with Vanilla Sky. It was about a lucid dream, but it was made by people who had no clue about what a ld really is. So sad!
The spirit movies have been alright
The Others and (I forgot the name of the other one)
I thought Vanilla Sky was just about an alternate reality, but not a dream. It could be said to be a dream if it weren't for the fact that the person who was living this reality didn't wake up from it (actually he mgiht have, i forget the ending). Anyway, i seem to be one of the only people i've talked to who has enjoyed it.
The Others was fairly good, but i don't think it was anything special. I like movies that make me think, and The Others didn't do that for me.
I've heard of Dreamscape, but never actually seen it. I'll have to check it out, along with Waking Life.
Signs... I liked the Others a lot.. I still want to see waking life. The Sixth Sense.
There's allways The Shadow that is a badass movie!
Altered States.
Released in 1980, with William Hurt, is about experiments with altered states of consciousness using sensory deprivation tanks and then drugs. Weird movie, and great visual effect for its time.
James.
A couple of others that came to mind are: Ghost, Defending Your Life and (in a karmic do it till you get it right sense) Groundhog Day.
Very best,
i think one of the best movies about what the afterlife might be like is the movie "What Dreams May Come"> it has Robin Williams in it but dont let that throw you off. it is a really great movie.
ahh i forgot about what dreams may come. excellent movie. i like movies that are visually stimulating like that.
Phenomenon with John Travolta is very inspiring. It shows you when the subconsious mind comes alive and remembers everything. I love this movie.
The guy who produced "What Dreams May Come" is working on a movie now called "Indigo," about the so-called Indigo Children. Website: http://www.indigothemovie.com
Maybe it will be good.
(Edit thanks to sublime's suggestion [:)])
Looks interesting Laurel, make sure you edit that message and put an "i" in the word "movie" i had to figure out why the link wasnt working. [^]
Lets not forget about ALL of the
Nightmare on Elmstreet movies....
and last, but not least,
976-evil<---------------Still scary, j/k!!!!
There are some good movies listed here by our members. The new one coming out that Laurel posted the link to looks like it may turn out to be a fascinating film. Thanks for that link, Laurel! [:)]
Very best,
try "the cell" and "the thirteenth floor".
Also "final fantasy : the spirits within" has a kind of astral theme.
The Shipping News with Kevin Spacey is not really about metaphysics but there is a little girl in the movie that has several obes.
Kevin spacey is by far my favorite actor. I love the weird charaters that he plays (well i might add). The shipping news is a wonderful movie. I saw it a while ago, before i was really into all this obe stuff so i dont remember the girl and her obes but i'll have to check it out.
Check out a movie called "Powder", its about a kid who was born with amazing abilities, telekinesis, magnetism, Telepathy etc
and he can remember every single thing that has happened in his whole life.
Even his birth, basically he has reached a higher state of consciousnes, and he feels the Universal sadness.
Great Movie.
Flatliners - NDE,Karma
Evil Dead Trilogy - Summoning demons and the walking dead are metaphysical right?
The Watcher In The Woods (I think this is the correct name, been awhile)
If metaphysics includes magic:
Lord of the Rings
Willow
Practical Magic
The Craft
All the Star Wars movies
How could I forget the classic Wizard of Oz
I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good movies that deal with subjects we are all interested in. the only ones that come close that i can think of are Donnie Darko and Waking Life. Two of my favorite movies. Any others?
Dragonball /Z/GT
XD Funny eyy?
Suspect 0 is about remote viewing.
What the bonk do we know? goes without saying.
"What Dreams May Come" had me in a heap on the floor - I loved it.
Another one that totally had me mesmorised was 'Solaris'. I know the original is a Russian film, but I only saw the American version (which I thought was good - surprisingly for me as I find American films [sorry, movies] too sentimental/ridiculous. I'd love to see the original Russian version.
I saw it after I'd experienced quite a few OBEs, and it just captivated me - what else can I say?
It's a slow film, not much action, more dealing with the mind. My kind of film really. The ending was just awesome, and reminded me of "choosing your own reality". I can't be doing with all that zap, power, shoot stuff that seems to come out of America on a daily basis. I much prefer a film that makes me think. I like British films best :)
I wonder why?
Although one film I particularly like was a film called 'Cube', which I think was Canadian. But now I'm meandering and going off topic, so I'll stop.
Sarah
runlola - The Serpent and the Rainbow - now that was a great film!!!
Completely blew me away when I saw it.
So too did Angel Heart. Loved Louis Cypher. Brilliant!
Sarah
Have you seen this one (Waking Life)? It's out on dvd. A guy experiences what looks very much like a projection he can't get out of.
The other movie is "Just Like Heaven." Reese Witherspoon plays a woman who is obviously in a very intense projection, once you find out what her situation is. Is she dead? Is she alive? check out the movie. It's playing now (9/22/05). Projection is the only way to explain her character's condition in the movie. Check it out, you'll see what I mean.
Try fire starter. Great movie G.C. Scot Drew Barrymore at 12 yrs, I enjoyed it. Love does it again.
Dreamscape was very real. Recently I have been having some pretty amazing experiences accessing peoples dreams.

Quote from: NickA couple of others that came to mind are: Ghost, Defending Your Life and (in a karmic do it till you get it right sense) Groundhog Day.
Nick, I like your tastes in movie, however when I first read this post, I had never heard of
Defending Your Life thinking I may want to see it soon since you put it before
Groundhog Day which is obviously one of the few modern day classics out there. Even though I had some minor urges to see it eventually, I didn't think I'd ever get a chance to.
However, last night the TV was accidentally left on an odd channel (Cineplex of all things). I remember seeing a guy driving a car and when I started paying attention to it, he was fidgeting around in the passenger floorboard for something, and like a good movie cliche a bus is coming the other way, but he didn't swerve like you'd expect him to and then the next scene with him being wheeled down the hallway with all the old people. At this point, I was mildly interested, and then a few minutes later after figuring out what was going on I was glued.
This has to be one of the most well written screenplays ever, even better than
Groundhog Day, since it's more true to the concept of a movie (I felt like GhD ended a bit wierd but I'm not sure how I would fix it either).
I won't go into any great detail about what the movie involves, and I don't suggest that you read anything into it, hell don't even pay attention to the writing on the box, and please avoid any movie review site until you watch it once. Just go get the movie, put it in the media player you chose (I'm going to go find a copy in the cheap bin if possible), and push play.
What this movie has: An interpretation of the life/death process, and a good concept of fear.
What I can contribute to it: A
perfect rating <3. This movie has a lot of replay value for me as well, so it will waste another 112 mins of my life at some point in the future.
Why you should watch it: As an astralpulse member, you probably are interested in interpretations of life as we know it. I suspect any non-fundy will love this movie, well unless a movie needs explosions that is. No it has no explosions.
