Seen it. Not impressed by it.[] Sceptic will certainly think that it is rubbish. Never done any mediumship except being contact by my grandmother immediately she passed away in my OBE.

The fact is, there are a hell of a lot of frauds in mediumship. I mean that old woman from that Glasgow spiritualist church did the most blatant example of coldreading I have ever seen in my life! Also, that incredibly cheesy first guy we saw - the one who said he'd never done one-to-one readings. The reason for that is so that he can have a large audience where anything he says will be picked up on by at least someone!

However, some of the things the other mediums did seemed to come out very well, i.e. that Christmas Cottage bit and getting the name Alan. So, it could be that there are some genuine mediums, but the fact there are some frauds means they all get tarred with the same brush.

Having said that, there was nothing on the program that Derren Brown or any halfway decent mentalist couldn't have done.

Another thing worth mentioning is that just because they may be cold-reading rather than using any genuine psychic ability, they do appear to be offering a valuable service to grieving relatives. If they believe it is genuine, it can genuinely help heal emotional pains for people.

On BBC2 tonight at 9 there's a program about communicating with the dead, featuring mediums and so on.

As it's in the Everyman thread, should be quite a fair and balanced program.
