You should not be frightened by this. It sounds like things that others have experienced. Read other posts on the board and experiment whenever this happens again. Assuming you are waking up outside your body then try leaving and going somewhere else. Just remember that there is nothing to fear even though this is something new and the feelings are weird at first. Your astral body is indestructible.
I am sorry to hear about your wife. The visions may have started then because your mind shifted to thinking more about other dimensions beyond death opening this up to you.

I'm only on page 135 of the amazing Astral Dynamics book. Going back a
few months I started 'Seeing' people and animals when either I would
just fall asleep or upon awakening. This has changed, frighteningly so, that on awakening I now see myself on the bed or sofa. The angle of view is as if I were looking down from about seven feet. The image lasts about, five or 6 seconds. The time that I was asleep is usually between five to seven minutes. My wife passed away last
November and that's about the time the visions started. Is there a
simple explanation? (I do hope I'm not violating a forum rule with
this post).
