at least you should read robert bruce's book psychic self-defense before you start fooling with the board...it's serious stuff...
Perhaps this is mere "coincidence" but when my sister was young, she never had asthma. One night while playing with an ouija board with her friend, a spirit started "choking her" and ever since that night, she has had asthma. I agree with the others, stay away from it... try the pendulum or automatic writing, or meditation... there are plenty of divination topics with explainations on this board that you could try that are far less risky.

I do not know about the ouija board. I have never used one and probably never will.

Ermm.. my first contribution here.. well how do I start.. hmm.. well I used to have a Ouija Board, but i have gotten rid of it.. whew.
The danger of the Ouija Board should not be underestimated.. no matter how noble your intentions are there is always the chance that you will call a really bad (and often persistent) spirit.. besides it's bad karma anyway to use one (do you really want that?).. it would be better if you find some other form of contacting spirits anyway..
But then it is ultimately up to you to decide how you are going to contact them.. just remember what you are letting yourself in for.

I am curious what makes the ouija board more dangerous to use (assuming it truly is) than other forms of communication?
It is generally held that because it is open to 'any' spiritual energy that it will often attract spirits of bad intent. Theoretically, the same thing applies to the pendulum.
I have used ouija boards often though, and only had positive results.
I think it is a mistake to characterise spiritual experience with an object universally according to one's own experience. No matter what the object of divination used, 'you' are still the conduit through which the divination is channeled, and any device for divination will only reveal what is communicated through you.
Therefore, it is up to you to characterize at the beginning of a session the intention of the divination you are seeking. Still, it will naturally follow your karmic and subconscious tendencies.
Even the suggestion that ouija boards somehow naturally attract negative energy, unexamined in one's consciousness, can lodge in the subconscious and be enough to actually attract a negative experience.
I had investigated the stigma against ouija boards some time ago, and found out that back in the '70s a bad B movie was made about an ouija board that was 'posessed' by an evil spirit. It was a bad movie, though the plot seems to have struck quite a foothold in the collective subconscious.

Hmmmm.. okay.. maybe I went a bit too far in what I said.. but still that is my opinion.. however I stand by what I said about being careful when using it or any other form of spirit contact.
And like I said.. it is ultimately up to the person as to how they are going to contact spirits, as long as they are aware of what they are doing and take responsibility for the user/abuse of such a device.

i recemtly just made me a ouija board not to long ago, id like to see if i could communicate with the spirits in this house. unfortunately no success. any tips? i realize some of you consider thw ouija board a death trap. from many i have heard if you are good enough and experienced enough, the ouija board is harmless. positive thoughts and protection from god is all you need. oh and some crosses or something for phyical protection. ya got any tips post em mate. lata
