Title: Pivot (Stick Figure Animator)
Post by: Woah on November 07, 2006, 21:21:01
I just downloaded this the other day, and it's really fun (and free)!
I used to make stick animations in paint, and put the frames into 'Animagic'.
That took forever, because I had to erase the background each time, and load all of the frames seperately.
This is much easier.

There's a newer one than the one I use, but it's in BETA so it's buggy.
Although with the update, it lets you add any image you want, and have multiple backgrounds.

Newer: http://s12.quicksharing.com/v/126518/Pivot_Animator.zip.html (http://s12.quicksharing.com/v/126518/Pivot_Animator.zip.html)

My first finished animation:

If you upload your own, please just post the link to it so the page doesn't lag like mad.
You should use http://pivothost.org (http://pivothost.org).

I have a graphics tablet (like animators and comic book artists use) which came with a Corel drawing/animation program, and it is freaking awesome. It cost about $60 and well worth it. You can export your animations as .avi's. The pen/stylus is pressure sensitive. Very fun to play around with.

My latest one... (Third ever)
The fading went bad when I saved as .gif... Oh well.
I love the first person view. I've seen a lot of other people's pivots but no first person. :)

I made my second one a month ago and it was pretty good.
I figured out how to run, so that helped. :P
I never finished it though, or I'd upload it.

EDIT: Well it lags up my computer, how 'bout yours? :P Maybe let it run through without watching a couple times first. But yeah, upping in .gif screws it up.

Looks alright.

Have you seen this 3d graphic design website:

Some of them look close to real photos. Attention to detail is incredible. I'm guessing they're running crazy VGA's.
