Hey I'm new to the concept of AP but i have been drawing all my life abstract and what not currently i am a Tattoo apprentice also been a dance on and off the past 4 years mainly breaking and street dance...has AP influenced you on any level with your hobbies/careers?

If you are new with the concepts of AP then go to 'Astral FAQ Section' to get some knowledge about AP.

Hm... how has AP influenced my hobbies/careers?

I have used what I have observed in my experiences in art, music, writing... I would say that a lot is influenced by my beliefs and experiences.

My career? Well... eh... still working on that bit. :)

Definitely, especially if you are new, don't be afraid to ask questions and check out some of the topics we have. There is a wonderful source of information all over the place. Have fun!

Wow  :-) very interesting indeed i can not wait to see the kind of impact it has on my interests...did it take you down a more creative route with the same base or a completely different concept alltogether thankyou for your answer!

Well, I haven't always APed, or more specifically learned all the different terms and words for things. A friend of mine from middle school about a year ago (?) told me about her OBEs and I was fascinated. I told her about my dreams and we talked about connections between dreams and OBEs. I got curious a few months later out of the blue and found this place. Oh how I learned! Rather, everything made sense. Everything is the same place, the non physical, you just experience it in different ways. So what if I didn't get there from hovering out of my body? I had been there many times. Well, I feel like I have fit right in. And each day I expand my experiences in more dimensions than before.

So has learning about AP _changed_ me and my interests? Not in particular. It has always influenced me, I am just now looking at it from another perspective. I have always pulled creative ideas from what I have observed in the non physical. I just have much more depth to what I perceive. :)

Thankyou i really appriciate what you have had to say and from the short experiences i am getting feel like i can take so much back :) what you said makes a lot of sense. What kind of writing do you do ?

Bedeekin

Yes Lookedynamixhales. Directly.

It was the nonphysical that told me what I would be doing with my life.

I use it quite often to generate ways of working around problems. A few years ago... here's a post I made that illustrates this perfectly...

I have in the last 10 years used the nonphysical to learn or rather create situations or run work related experiments. This is done by creating the situation... not by building it object by object but by intent. It can be abstractly created or methodically created. It's very hard to describe the process because it is essentially THE most subjective thing to describe... but I'll try because of the results it has on objective physical reality.

For instance, I was to make a giant sculpture within a tight deadline that was approximately 16 feet high.

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nhUgCALgx-I/TTH5AXe9HfI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/n9OdEP2iWnM/s1600/AfterArcimboldo.JPG

I already knew what it would look like, because I had previously sculpted a small scale ornament sized version. I had tried on several nights to do this but failed. Usually getting drawn into a narrative. The trick was to intently 'see' it while physical. Visualisation is the key... seeing it from all angles. When the object/scenario makes itself seen while Out of Body it doesn't tend to appear like a special effect. It seems to present itself as it should be... Again this is my method and it works for me:

12/02/10

Separated via climb out method after several failed attempts at my usual. Blackness ensued so I attempted anchoring with the hand method.

I was in a large barn... not sure where but it had the qualia of the workshop. It occurred to me at that point that I had dreamed in this barn before that involved work related issues. I spent a moment searching for the sculpture. Workshop A/B was the most obvious place to find it.

It was across a large lawn. Not as it should be. Again I recalled several dreams involving this lawn. I remembered upon that that Wkshop A/B was a market in DLR. I peered into the large glass[wooden] doors and sure enough it was filled with market tents and stalls.

I was momentarily drawn into a narrative involving a man at a chestnut roasting stand. I realised I was slipping and phased back to SP.

I hand anchored and re-focused to the workshop. This time it was more complete as the workshop in the physical. I was relieved to find the sculpture in all its glory standing in the main workshop. I wondered how we would get it out considering the doors are smaller than the object. That was simple. I looked behind the cowl wrapped around its neck and noticed it was split into sections. Interesting.

I pulled apart the cowl and noticed that there was a hatch that gave access to the inside. I looked inside and found that it was like a jigsaw puzzle made from sections with inverted flanges. LIKE A REVERSE MOULD!!

There was no steelwork. All fibreglass. Plastic leaves. Moss was flocking. Giant flocking doesn't exist.

Becky climbed into the top of the head via another hatch. She was concerned that there was no work for her to do. I said not to worry and that we need her to weld up some sort of frame for the base. We then climbed outside the model together and became concerned that Leigh would be mad that he wasn't informed of the manufacturing process. I realised a narrative was forming and phased back to physical.

The object was built after this by back-engineering the sculpture I had intended whilst in the non-physical. There was no effort on my part to actually imagine it or visualise it. It was just there... in all its finished glory. A solid object that relied fully upon the laws of physics.

That sounds, needless to say, absolutely amazing. Someday I wanna do something like that! I have written music while in dreams, but I always forget the details abruptly when I wake up. I'll just remember "wow, that sounded legit!" xD

I write music and have been writing books, non of which are published or anything. Only one is actually finished. Reminds me I should be getting to work... >_>;;; Pretty much all my stories have some sort of base from a dream. Once I started writing a particularly detailed dream down, expanding the details to be more like a story and I was 100 pages into a composition book before I realized it... @_@;;;;;;

I think that all dimensions affect each other to whatever degree - what we call the subconscious I understand is always aware regardless of what state of experience dream. AP etc 'I' am experiencing from my human perspective so what I do influences other states as much as other states influence what I do..in this..I guess we could call it a 'dominant reality' - this life package which wakes up every day in the physical universe.

I dream every night and while I dont remember details I do remember the necessary things.  I think dreams are most likely echos of AP experiences - echos because they are not experienced in detailed lucidity.

I also write music, songs and stories - and knowing what I do - it would be silly of me to think the alternate states have nothing to do with the process.

I think I would enjoy reading one of your stories or songs.

I'm not pulling your chain. You seem to be a good writer and I presume your stories would be cool and imaginative.  :-)
