The anti-war movement is making itself more and more irrelevant all the time. I say this as someone who opposes the war. It angers me that these idiots hit the street with their Marx and Guevara posters and "Bush is a baby-killer" signs. They are making those of us who are peaceful, patriotic anti-war activists look like communists and terrorist sympathizers. The point of these protests should be to influence the people who support the war or are sitting on the fence. People like the 70% + Republicans who support Bush and his foreign policy. You won't make an impact on these people with childish, immature, and blatantly stupid tactics like those used by those freaks who vandalised the 9-11 memorial. just my $0.02

9/11 is a completely seperate matter from the war. Though they may have connections, what happened to us because of the terrorists is not the same as us declaring war on Iraq. Though the Iraqi government harbors and abets terrorists, there are other reasons Bush chose to go to war with Iraq as well as terrorism- Oil, weapons, etc. No offense but I don't like the idea of marching around with signs. I think some of those people should be holding signs that say "I'm an idiot." The current stereotype method of protest by a majority of people isn't doing squat. There are other ways. Faxing Washington and tying up their phone lines is one way. Printing out a bunch of copies of letters, having people sign them, and having them sent to Bush is another way. You are right when you say those radicals were being childish. A memorial for the innocent victims of terrorism is NOT a cry for war. I think there should be a memorial honoring all people in all the countries in the world who have died from terrorist attacks, similar to the holocaust memorial or the Vietnam Wall in Washington DC.

MJ-12,

Have you ever played the game Deus Ex by any chance?

Deus Ex is my second favorite single player game, I can't wait for the second one either.

Sounds like I should give Deus Ex a try. Haven't paid much attention to it.

As to war protesters, If I thought for one minute that I wouldn't cop a barage of mindless insults, I'd love to ask some of these protesters one simple question - If we shouldn't be going to war with Iraq, exactly what do you suggest as an effective, realistic alternative to the problems?

I could help them out with one possible suggestion - instead of spending time being part of a mindless protesting mob, do something more constructive. Spend that time you would spend at a protest rally at work instead, then donate the money you earn in that time to the Red Cross so they can help the survivors and refugees after a war breaks out.

Is the average intelligence level of each protester in a mob equal to their IQ divided by the number of people in the mob?

James.

ANTI-WAR PROTESTERS TRASH 9/11 MEMORIAL:

Whittier, Ca. - Antiwar protesters burned and ripped up American flags, flowers and patriotic signs at a September 11th memorial that residents erected on a fence along Whittier Boulevard days after the terrorist attacks and have maintained ever since.

However, although officers witnessed the
vandalism, police did not arrest any protesters
seen damaging the display because they
were "exercising the same freedom of speech
that the people who put up the memorial were," Police Captain John Rees said.
