Title: recalling past lives
Post by: atalanta on June 06, 2004, 01:09:50
Isn't this strange.  I was just about to look at your thread and as I was entering, I was thinking to myself, what it would feel like to be able to just say the words, 'I am Buddha' and really mean it, to use the words, Buddha and not Little Buddha.  Then I looked at your first sentence...

"has anyone here seen little Buddha."

...is this a warning by Buddha, that I am still too little to take him on? [;)]

Hi,
Yeah, coincidences are funny when they occur.[:)] Yeah, I have heard of past life regression but I thought it would be good to instinctivly know something from a past life (like deja vu) and be able to look it up and find something that relates to you personally

Well I believe that you are reborn when you are ready.

I posted something on this subject last week, but I think I may have put it in the wrong forum.. ooops[:o)]

Here's a link to a story of a little girl in India (in 1948) who could remember her previous life from infancy. She had convieniently been reborn only a few villages away from her old family, and could verify her claims. http://www.childpastlives.org/swarnlata.htm

That's a really good site if you've got a bit of time on yer hands.

I used to as kid had dreams, where i lead double life, and
had all cities and towns in my head in another time- Beside that I
had all the time lucid dreams. I was more focussed and interested in the lucid part so other dreams kinda stopped. And when I started meditation,
2years ago- I started seen pictures from dreams when I was a kid-
very alive, it is like memories, and more alive then any dream-
When remembering i feel hot, or cold sensations like nothing else,
and like certain part of my brain has pressure on it-
The pictures are still disconnected, but more I think more of them i get
to connect-
If I dont succeed on my own, i will go to hypnosis-

I think some of them are not past, but paralel lives-

Hi, everyone.  Yes, I do recall some past lives.  Had some recurring dreams as a child about a train wreck.  As zzan adult I did do some hypnotic regressions.  Interesting to say the least.  Now I often have moments of spontaneous recall, mostly brought on by places I travel to or places I see on TV.

Your dreams can give you clues.  ALso, places you are drawn to or seem fascinated by.  Same is true of time periods you find interesting.  Sometimes reading historical fiction can open a gateway to a place and time period.

Through guided hypnosis you can get an overview of past lives that may be affecting you now.  In other ways, you might just get a sense of it.  I don't know of many people that have experienced total recall
from beginning to the end of a life.  The Buddha is said to have been enlightened enough to do that.

It is an interesting exploration into one's self and changes your perspective on quite a few things such as being a man or a woman or of a particular race.  You definitely begin to see that we are all more alike than we are different.

It has also changed some of my more traditional beliefs and leaves me with many questions as to why we come back over and over.

Some of the lives I get snippets of were quite wonderful and some were quite awful.  Most are like this one, with a bit of both ends of that spectrum and everything in between.

I am now trying to reach out into parallel lives, parallel selves.

But past lives are worth exploring.  Just don't expect the lives you do discover to be Cleopatra or King of anything.  Most will be just ordinary folks experiencing the life of the times and the culture.

Find a good hypnotist and remember they don't have to be licensed so word of mouth is probably the best way to find someone to guide you through a great adventure.

Actually tried a previous life regression yesterday before
going to bed.

Tried to understand from where some of my Christian attributes
come from, since they certainly do not come from this life-time.

Got the feeling of an old priest. Then I tried to pinpoint
the place of it and I 'saw' a very exact and real place
with mountains/hills. Got the feeling that it was somewhere
in the center Europe. Maybe in the alps somewhere.

In one past-life I'm not sure if it was the same as this one,
but in that one I've gotten killed by someone. Had somekind
of projectile go through the right side of my navel. So
in this life the whole place felt weird. Then when in a deep
meditation after some exercises I went to the root of the problem
and my hunch was very much correct. I had died from that projectile.
I got ALL the pain back from that place and NOTHING has hurt so
much as that did. Not even when I broke my arm as a kid [:D]
I winced in pain for a 5-10 minutes and then I couldn't take
it and released it all. The pain was not physical in anyway,
since when I started moving and touched the sore place the pain
vanished in an instant. Now after that experience the obscure
feeling right of the navel has vanished and it has healed.

To samsara

I believe there is a gap for most before being reborn.
Though I'm not sure if everyone has this gap, some may
be instantly reborn after death because they couldn't
take the fact that there is life after death [:O]

Hi everyone,
I find it fascinating that there are so many possibilities to death and rebirth. Things like what sort of person I was in a past life, how quick you are reborn and do you carry knowledge gained in previous lives into the next. I always wondered whether this remembered knowledge is why some people are the best at what they do, are they somehow tapping into knowledge gained in previous incarnations? Also the possibility that, in a past life, a person could have been someone really evil or nasty.

When you are not in physical form, you do not exist in linear-time. So reflection on lives in 5th Density are instantaneous from our perspective.

To be a good person in this lifetime, is a clear indication that one has learned the karmic lessons involved in the opposite archetype: criminals, murderers, etc. You cannot enjoy the good without tasting the bad. It's rather subjective labeling them that though, as a more suitable description would be positive VS negative existence.

One other point would be: Since time is non-existant and all events are instantaneous above 3rd Density, incarnations may not occur in the order you would assume. That is to say you may incarnate from the future, to the past, and then back to the future again. It's quite complicated when you think about it in that light. [:O]

Blackbox, would you say then, that from the point of view of 4th or 5th density that all your incarnations are happening simultaneously?

Samsara- you should take a look at the downloadble book " The Value of Life" ( in the file library)
It has very interesting views on Past lives  and Reincarnation. As well the material in the book has very reliable evidence.

has anyone here seen little buddha? There is a section where children are shown items which they owned in a previous incarnation which identifies them in the current lifetime. Good film. It would be nice to have a website where people could check for their items in the same way[:)]

Does anyone know the principle of how long it takes to reincarnate after death. Is there a long gap before being reborn?
