Seeing Spirits? I wish to start...

Hey Astral pulse!

I just wanted to ask a quick question here. I don't know if it's possible, but I am pretty sure it is. I know a medium who can see spirits. She has had this gift since she was little. I never was able to do this but after becoming very spiritual I do notice I will often see shadows out of the corner of my eye etc... She literally sees them all around in the physical. She always tells me who is around me when I see her at work. She's had many verification with me... I guess spirits tend to cling around people? Anyway... I have seen a few. Only when I am in OBE. It's very real indeed. I saw a tall reptilian looking thing... Ever seen the movie signs? When the alien walked across the alleyway at the birthday party? It looked just like that. Walked right across my hallway. I was also phasing once, I woke up from a dream, opened my eyes and a man was sitting on my bed looking at me. I felt no harm at all. I only felt harm one time. I never saw anything just sensed it. This again is when I was in sleep paralysis.

Anyway... I would really like to start seeing spirits in the physical like she can. What do I have to do to achieve this? Or maybe I don't see them for a reason? I have done a lot of EVP work in my time and can communicate with them quite well. I just wish I could see them and even talk to them. What are my steps for this? I realize this isn't going to come easy. It's just lately I notice I see things out of the corner of my eye a lot and this hasn't happened in the past. Maybe I wasn't aware of it...

Opening yourself is as simple as thinking, or rather feeling,
"I am open to all things good and all whom wish to reveal to me that which is unseen in my normal reality."
Presto, keep a dream journal and you will start to notice a very distinct shift in your dreams. After that you may get more and more visitors in your waking hours.
I will lightly touch on a sensitive subject as a fair warning. Not everything you come across is friendly and if you open yourself, you will become what many call "demon bait." Now, understand that I do not personally believe in the existence of demons, so much as very nasty manifestations that have come about from so many people thinking them into existence, but none the less, respect and consider every aspect before jumping into something.

Patience and baby steps will be your greatest aid on your journey. Learn to control your energy and shield yourself before dabbling in anything spiritual or paranormal.

You want the truth without BS? I was a ghost hunter, I've had thousands of OBES, I know people who make similar claims to see the dead.

There is no seeing dead people as if they're actually there with your physical eyes. Now you might see shadows and such things out of the corner of your eye, but that's because of the way the eye is designed with the amount of rods and what not in that area of vision. For example, take your hand out in the corner of your vision and move it, you'll detect motion but not be able to tell what it is.

The only time you're going to see a "ghost" with your physical eyes is when you're OBE'd (and my not even know it), when you see something out of the corner of your eye, in an altered state of consciousness, or just upon returning to normal consciousness -- I call it bleed through.

So this medium is either straight up lying about everything or telling "white" lies to make her sound more credible.

How's it really work? It's internal, in your mind. All the people that I know that are experts in this, when they do see stuff it's in there mind, like flashes, and I've had multiple different people see the same thing at the same haunted location. Yes I can tell you how to develop this if you really want to.

Here's the difference between myself and the experts when I first started:
We walk into a room at a haunted location.
Me: "I sense that a female died here, she was in pain, was she sexually assaulted?"
Expert: "I see a nine year old girl huddling in the corner" *tears start to role down our experts face* "... She's wearing a white dress, this seems to be in the 1920s... she's crying for her mother. Now a man is dragging her... oh my god she was raped and strangled to death here"

True story, and based on the history of the home this did occur here. A drifter murdered and raped a 9 year old girl in this basement room we were in around the time of the great depression.

So we both sensed or saw the same thing, but my version was far less detailed than the old woman I was with who had been doing this for 40 years.

When I first started I might have said:
Me: "Did someone die here?"

then
Me: "Did a female die here?"

Little baby steps over time as you go further into this.

So how do you this? Good question.. partly intuition, sensing your feelings. I think at the basic level it's turning around when someone is looking at you. The more you're in tune with these type of feelings and follow your gut and what first comes to you, the more you'll be able to do this.

For me it started in better detail when I started going to haunted locations, at first it was just sensing when a place was going to be bad or not. Then it came to being able to sense when a spiritual presence was in a certain room. Then it got to be I wouldn't go into a certain room because a feeling (only once did I chicken out and turn around -- an EVP picked up I'll kill you at the same time). So maybe it was good for me to back down, I don't need more spirits following me. It was a slow trickle down process for me.

So you get good at that.

Then you start trying to connect with spirits, this all happens in your imagination, so you need to know when you're generating stuff or an outside force is.. it's like peeing I can't really tell you exactly but there's a feeling you get when you're truly connecting to a psychic event or communicating with a spirit.

Now if you really are stuck on seeing dead people in real life as real as real people are I suggest you work on holding various detailed images in your mind to develop your brains capacity for visualization. Tibetan monks (who are at the end of their mentorship) have a technique where they meet their guide and teacher by repeatedly creating a thoughtform in their mind and pretending to really see it over and over again until it becomes real.

It's possible that some freaks of nature have this ability initiate, but they're rare if they exist. Common sense would dictate to believe the most likely - that they're over stating their abilities.

Truth is subjective and while you have formed your own opinion, which I respect its clearly based on your experiences, which have fallen short of the reality. I have personally no interest in ghost hunting, Ie energy left in a location from the past. which you have talked about.
But the ability to see spirit people, which we are discussing, is yes dependent on the power and attunement of the mind, but that is not to say they cannot be seen or are not seen as though they are physically here in the room so to speak. I see clairvoyantly both subjectively (in my mind) and objectively (in the room) and that faculty is not limited to seeing those who have passed over, but also, auric fields, peoples thoughts and memories as well as potential futures. In fact Its the more you work with the spirit world the "less" we need to see to obtain the information from the communicator, so we are more likely to see more of the spirit people early on in our development...but paradoxically our ability to see them grows stronger as you mentioned. I have seen people thinking they were alive, only to find out that they had died days before. That was quite natural for me and needed no training.
You did mention that it all relies on the mind, which lately I have come to realise is only partly true as myself and other mediums have realised that when we hear the spirit world speaking with us it effects our physical ears as well and can give the feeling of of having pressure and sinus trouble. Further more the sense of feeling clairsentince, is also experienced through the physical body as well as the mind.
We also might consider that since the mediumship faculty is often inherited, that also points towards the fact that the physical organism of the human being plays a part in the potential of a persons sensitivities and ability.
But yes it is quite possible to see spirit as if they are physically in the room and it looks like we are using our eyes to see it. But then so does everything else we see....
