Title: Seeing your meditations
Post by: Nomesb69 on February 13, 2011, 03:08:06
Ok. Question, how do you see your meditations? What I mean is when I meditate and see things during the time meditating I see the images and scenes as if I would recall a memory. So in other words it isn't as if I am experiencing them visually. This disappoints me as I want them to be as if I am seeing them with my eyes. Is this how everyone else see's their meditations? or am I just lacking in development?

What you're describing is visualization.  It's using your imagination.  That's pretty much what I do with my meditations.

When you begin to actually "see" things... and you "step into" what you're seeing, then you're Phasing into the non-physical.  :)

But yeah, you're doing great in your meditations.

Thanks. I don't like it though because it's open to so much Interpretation of what you thought you saw. I want to be able to say this is what I saw. I want to step into my meditations I guess.

Keep in mind that there are other ways of perceiving then just visually. Other areas of consciousness can be perceived much differently then how we do the physical, sometimes in ways that are fairly unexplainable. Pay attention to your feelings and emotions and be very open as to what comes to you. It may be visual, it may not be, but having certain expectations may halt what's trying to arise. Becoming comfortable in other states of consciousness will eventually lead to proper perception. This is just basic meditation (that amazing things can arise from, no doubt)...

or....

If you're doing a purposeful visualization, you need to focus all of your awareness into it. Stick strictly with your exercise and don't let outside thoughts intrude. If done right, you'll slip into another state of consciousness and your visualization become the forefront of your perception. It's tricky and takes a lot of practice (for most people).
