Title: So, uh.. Is this Astral Dynamics book worth it?
Post by: Tom on August 08, 2002, 18:55:11
You won't find many people here who don't like the book. I would have paid twice as much as it cost me to have it.

Tom...I hope Rob doesn't read that before his next book comes out!

Risu-
I emphatically delcare that "Astral Dynamics" is setting a precedent for authors whose goal is to provide useful and honest information for individuals interested in esoteric studies.

I find Robert's style refreshing and down to earth.  I don't have to use a "new age" dictionary to decipher his meaning.  I also find that everything he presents is well grounded and proven by "hard life" experience, as he puts it.

I echo Tom's words, I too would pay double what I paid for the book.

i third their opinion- could you think of any metaphysical writer that puts out so much info in one book?

and i fourth that opinion. I've been interested in astral projection for as long as I can remember - its the only book I've come across that goes into sufficient detail when talking about how to do e.g. energy development, rope technique, and other exercises.

That means that you can measure your progress ....you know when you are going wrong / right.

I read the main text (skipped the exercises) pretty damn quickly. After 3 days of doing the exercises, I had experienced astral sight and nearly projected completely !!

I have not read it but I plan to. I do not think I have ever heard anyone say anything bad about the book. I have only heard positive feedback. I would say that if you are interested in astral project it was worth what you paid.

How much did you pay for it? I have found it in bookstores for about $16. I know that this is marked down as I think it is usually a lot more.

Well, good. I just can't read it anytime soon. :( I have to read two books for school then memorize a monologue because I'm being forced by my school to audition for plays just because Theater is my magnet.

The book was marked $16.95, but I got a ten percent school discount, so it cost around $14 something.

But as long as everyone says it's a good book, then it must be a good book and I can't wait til I can read it! :D

Sort of off the subject, but what MJ 12 said is SO true.  Sometimes I find myself about to buy a book or some other item of importance and I think, "Well, this is kind of expensive...I need to save my money" but then I go out and get fast food, fill up on gas, see a movie, etc. and although sustenance and transportation are important, I think a book is too.  Anyway, I am thinking out loud, but I think it's important to not give up a book or something like that and then go out and spend $3.95 on the super size garbage meal that's going to clog the arteries anyway.

This is my first book on studying OBE's.  I really enjoy the style and "meat" put forth by Robert Bruce.  After I'm done reading it I will have to get another book by someone else to get a good comparison.

Edit:  I was thinking of looking into OBE's and did searching on the subject.  The reviews of this book made me decide to read this before all others.  So far, I am glad I had chosen this book as my "Break-in".

The very best thing about the book is not that it gives you a way to the ubiquitous  (sp?) OBE but that it's written in such a way that even the folks who normally don't care about the subject can enjoy it and better understand the goal of those who keep rambling on aboyt this OBE thing that no-oone's ever seen...

Because it set me back a pretty penny, so I hope it is.
