So who is going back to school in Sept?

For all I know you could be talking about college or something.. I've already started my 10th grade year. Here in Virginia we've had a the traditional system for a while.. Go all year except summer and holidays.. But the state is looking more into the year-round system like other states are already using. It's something like go 2 or 3 weeks, get off a week, and then, of course, the big holidays.

Yea, I'm a Senior now.. Gosh I feel so old  Our school starts next week...  so you MAY see me post less  :p  Hehe, school will be fun

I have no idea how the school system in the states works, but over here we start in January and have a four terms with 2 weeks break between each cept for at the end of the year when we finish around december for a couple of months. This year though, being in yr 11, i'll finish in November []
So at the moment i've got 3 weeks of this term left then 2 weeks off then a very short and easy last term!

The way America's school system works is:

We start school the week of labor day (at least we do here)...  Then, we don't catch a break until Thanksgiving.  Some schools close the whole week, the stupid ones (much like mine) just close early on wednesday.  So basically they give half of wednesday to travel someplace before Thanksgiving.  Real smart there guys.

Then once you get back, the next break comes in is "Winter Vacation."  It used to be called Christmas Break, but since everybody is critical of everything, they were forced to change it in order not to offend anybody.  Sounds like morons at work here again.  We get off the week before Christmas, and return the week after New Years.

So after that we don't get a thing until Spring Break.  This used to be called Easter Break, but, much like Christmas, we lost it.  SO NOW it's spring break.  This is a week off.  It's worthless.

Then you take the home stretch into summer break, or, as I like to call it, the 3 month period where we all forget everything we learned, then spend the first week of school re-edumacating ourselves that we're supposed to be edumacated.

By the way, I know that Britain and Australia use the terms "Year 1-12)... This isn't how it is here. Oh no.  We have to use the same 4 words for high school and college to confuse everybody.  I'm a "Senior" in high school, and next year I will be a Freshman in college.  And for 1-8, it's called 1st, 2nd, 3rd... 8th Grade.  Man are we messed up.

Yeah, it starts this wednesday (September 6th) for me.

I completely love school.

I don't relate well to how the education system works in America. I completed high school and took alittle college but I decided to start my own business and dropped out after about a year.
